K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai  admissions are currently ongoing. The institute offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. programs in different specializations. The candidates applying for the B.Tech are evaluated on the basis of valid scores in  MHT-CET /JEE Mains(Paper-1) / SAT  (Scholastic Assessment Test)/ PERA-CET / CUET Exam. Admission to M Tech Programme will be offered on the basis of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or PERA CET - 2023 and have Bachelor Degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology with at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks in case of persons with disability).

• A candidate is eligible to apply if she/he has a Non-Zero score for Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) 2023 OR JEE-Main (Paper-1) 2023 OR PERA CET-2023 OR CUET 2023 OR MHT-CET 2023 examination.
• There are following phases of admissions:
  • Phase 1 based on Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT)

There will be three phases in admission process

• Phase 1 on the basis of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) (Positive Score/ Qualified Score)

K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering offers Ph.D. in 5 specializations. Candidates who have passed Master’s degree in relevant subject from a recognized university in India/Abroad are eligible for admission.

Admission into the P.h.D programme is based on the scores obtained in PET/GATE/NET/SET entrance exam and Ph.D. entrance test (PET) conducted by KJSC

Selection Criteria

The selection process for P.h.D is based on qualifying scores in SVU-PET (Somaiya Vidyavihar University Ph.D Entrance Test) followed by Interview & Discussion. Candidates with research fellowship from the State/Central Govt. agencies such as BINC, CSIR, UGC-NET-JRF, GATE, DBT are exempted from the entrance exam but will have to fill in the application form

Admission to KJSCE is done through online mode. Interested candidates are required to follow the given steps:

For B.Tech and M.Tech: Candidates need to visit the official website of the college and submit the online application - https://admissions.somaiya.edu/  

• There will be three phases in the admission process for M.Tech and seven phases for B.Tech
• Fill in the details correctly
• Pay the Application Form Fee of INr 2,000/- (non-refundable).

Note(s): Candidates can apply for all the phases in the same application form by selecting appropriate options provided that the candidate is eligible for the respective phase.

• Admission will be offered based on the merit, preference, and availability of seats taken together. The candidate will be communicated via email about his/her offered seat.

For Ph.D.: Candidates are required to fill the applications online from https://www.somaiya.edu/en/phd/ together with scanned copies of required document (self-attested) and application processing fee of INR 2,000.
