Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology (MSIT) offers B.Tech degree program to aspiring students in six different specializations. The duration for each of B.Tech courses is four years. The total number of seats allotted for the B.Tech program is 360. The institute also has a provision for B.Tech Lateral Entry of three years duration.

Key Points to remember for Admission in B.Tech and B.Tech (Lateral):

• The minimum age for applying in WB JEE is 17 years. There is no upper age limit.
• Minimum marks needed by reserved category candidates is 40% for WB JEE & JELET.
• Must have passed english with at least 30% marks.
• Admission to the B.Tech Lateral entry course is done through Lateral Entry Examination (LEET) conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board.

Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology (MSIT) offers M.Tech degree program to aspiring students in two domains for a period of two years. The total number of seats allocated for the M.Tech program is 36.
Admission to the M.Tech program is done on the basis of merit in National level Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam conducted jointly by Indian Institute of Science (IISC) and Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). Or by WBUT PGET (West Bengal University of Technology Post Graduation Entrance Test). It is a state level entrance test conducted by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.

Key Points to remember for M.Tech. Admission 2023:

• Candidates pursuing for Bachelor’s degree from other than India must have completed or in the final year of bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology.
• Or candidate must have completed or in the final year of Post Graduation Degree in the field of Science.
• Candidates currently appearing in the final year of examination can also apply.
• GATE qualified candidates can also apply for PGET and they do not need to appear for the exam.

In addition to the B.Tech program, Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology, Kolkata also offers a three-year BBA degree program and BCA program at the undergraduate level. The number of seats available for the BBA program is 60, while for the BCA program it is 120. Admission to the BBA and BCA programs are strictly done on the basis of merit in the last qualifying examination.

Along with UG courses, MSIT Kolkata also offers MBA and MCA degree programs to the aspiring candidates. The duration of the MCA and MBA programs is three years and two years, respectively. The intake capacity for both MBA and MCA courses is 60 seats each.

For MCA, admission in done on the basis of JECA (Joint Entrance for admission in Computer Applications) by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board.  In case of MBA, admission will be done on the basis of CAT/MAT or JEMAT scores.

Key Points to remember for MBA & MCA:

• Applicant must be citizen of India.
• For JECA, minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC-B) is needed at graduation level.
• JECA exam will be done in two forms- Paper Based and Computer Based.
