Modern College of Engineering Admission 2024: Courses, Cutoff, Fee, Selection Criteria

The institute offers a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in 5 different courses. The courses offered are : 

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
• Computer Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Information Technology Engineering.

B.Tech Eligibility 

B.Tech. (4 years)

Passed or appearing in, 10+2 examination or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology/ Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology/ Geology / Statics. The candidate should have passed individual subject and must have obtained at least 45% marks in the above subjects taken together.

B.Tech. (Lateral) 

Polytechnic Diploma in relevant specialization with at least 45 % marks (40 % marks in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State).

OR

B.Sc. Degree with at least 45% marks (40 % marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State) and passed XII standard examination with Mathematics as the subject and with English as the medium of instruction at B.Sc. level.

B.Tech Selection Process

Considering the 12th exam results, JEE Main score, a merit list shall be made category-wise, listing All India Rank (AIR) of candidates. 

Candidate has to register for counselling online at the official JoSSA website. Choice filling and locking is mandatory and it is to be done by the candidate only. 

In decreasing order of preference, branch choices are to be filled. Based on the cut off set by Modern College of Engineering, seats will be allocated in each round of counselling.

How to Apply for B.Tech at Modern College of Engineering?

Documents required

• Scanned copies of academic details.
• Scanned passport size photograph of the candidate in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb).
• Scanned clear signature of the candidate in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb).
• Scanned copies of Category certificate, PwD certificate, if applicable.
• A valid e-mail ID.

Application process:

• Register for JEE Main exam for B.Tech.
• Enter the personal, academic details and upload Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph and Signature.
• Pay the application fee through Debit card/Credit card/Net banking/UPI/PAYTM by following the online instructions.
• After successful payment, print the Confirmation Page and keep it for future reference.

Modern College of Engineering offers a full-time M.E. degree for a duration of 2 years. The program is offered in the following specializations:

• Mechanical Engineering (Heat Power)
• Electrical Engineering (Control System)
• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (Signal Processing)
•  Computer Engineering (Computer Engineering).

M.E Eligibility :

The student should hold a graduate degree in the relevant field before applying for admission into the M.E. programme at Modern College of Engineering.

Selection process

• The candidate should have qualified the GATE examination and should be eligible to be placed in the All India Merit List for the same. 
• All GATE qualified candidates should register first in the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) before filling online application in the Modern College of Engineering website.
•  After successful completion of registration, the candidate will receive the "COAP Registration Number”. 
• Use this number while filling the registration form. 
• Selection of candidates will be scrutinized as on 70% weightage to GATE score and 30% weightage to Interview. 
• Cut off for each specialization will be decided by the central counselling board of CCMT.

How to Apply for ME at Modern College of Engineering?

Documents required

• Scanned copy of the Eligibility Certificate in pdf format
  • Degree Certificate; or
  • Provisional Certificate; or
  • Certificate from the Head of the Department/Institute format, available in GOAPS website.
• Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format.
• Scanned copy of Dyslexic Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format.
• Scanned passport size photograph of the candidate between 480×640 to 240×320 pixels in JPEG format.
• Scanned signature image can be between 160×560 to 80×280 pixels in JPEG format.

Application Process

• Register for the exam through online application form
• Enter the login details for creating a unique ID and password.
• Enter personal login with the unique ID and password and enter personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents’ name, parents’ mobile number, etc.).
• Upload photograph, signature and other documents like eligibility certificate, category certificate (SC / ST / PwD) and / or Dyslexic certificate as applicable.
• Enter the GATE paper (subject) and Choice of examination cities.
• Pay the application fee and submit it.
• After submission, check the Status of the application form and retain the hard copy of it.

Modern College of Engineering offers MCA program for a duration of 3 years. The program is offered in the full time mode.

MCA Eligibility Criteria

Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45%for Backward Classes and Differently-abled persons of Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor's degree.

Selection Criteria

Admission to the MCA program will be granted on the basis of Score in MAH MCA CET.

Modern College of Engineering MAH MCA CET Cut Off :

MBA Eligibility:

Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* or equivalent CGPA ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons With Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree.

MBA Selection Criteria:

Admission to the MBA program will be granted o the basis of CAT/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ XAT/ MAH MBA/ MMS CET.

Each Candidate who has appeared for the above Entrance examinations will be assigned a state-level Merit number on the percentile mentioned on the score. Admission will be granted on the basis of CAP Counselling.

How to Apply for MBA at Modern College of Engineering?

Candidates appearing MAH MBA/ MMS CET will be selected on the basis of CAP Counselling. 

• Candidates selected for counselling candidates must report in-person at the venue of “Center of Counseling Round” in order to secure admission in this round of admission. 
• After successful counselling, Candidate is required to pay processing fees of CAP Round-III, Rs.100/- in cash at the Center of Admission and obtain a receipt for the same. 
• Pay the non-refundable fees of INR 10000 in the form of DD drawn on “The Director, Technical Education” payable at Mumbai.
•  Eligible Candidates who report to the Admission Center will be offered admission to available seat as per the inter se merit of candidates.
