Admission:

The disciplined and structured environment at my college really matched my personality, helping me stay focused and on track, whereas other schools I applied to felt a bit too relaxed, and I was worried I might lose focus there. As for the colleges I didn’t get into, it was mainly because their admission requirements were really competitive, and I realized my preparation for some of the standardized tests (which was JEE and Cet in my case) wasn’t as strong as it needed to be. It was a tough lesson, but it pushed me to improve. While applying, I submitted applications to College of Engineering Pune, JSPM, D.Y. Patil, PCCOE, and PCCOER. I received acceptance letters from JSPM, D.Y. Patil, and PCCOER. After visiting all these colleges, I ultimately chose PCCOER due to its positive and disciplined environment. During my visit, I interacted with the teachers and had a great experience, which further solidified my decision to pursue my bachelor’s degree there. Admission to PCCOER for the B.Tech course can be obtained through MHT CET and JEE after completing your 12th boards. These entrance exams are conducted annually, and once the results are announced, you need to fill out a form listing your preferred colleges in order of priority. Based on your entrance test scores, you will receive seat offers from the colleges where you meet the cutoff criteria.

What is your review of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU)?

Sakshi Gupta
Saikat Das,studied at Savitribai Phule Pune University (2020)

One of my friends recently graduated from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). According to her, it is better to do anything rather than joining this institute. She mentioned some of the reasons that made her feel this way.

  • The institute only focuses on making money and not actual education.
  • The syllabus and curriculum followed by the institute are outdated.
  • Practical training is not properly given, making students lag behind the industry demands.
  • Basic things like a proper academic calendar are not provided.
  • Re-evaluation is time-consuming and usually not done properly.
  • A 60% from SPPU is not considered good enough for admission to other colleges. They do not consider it as first class.
  • They are known to have the worst and uncooperative staff members. They are not at all helpful or considerate about any problem.

It is suggested that you do not opt for SPPU as they are highly unprofessional. They do not have a proper way to conduct classes, assemblies, extracurricular activities and get involved in everything half-heartedly. SPPU is a good example of how a university should be not.

What is the latest procedure of completing WES educational assessment for Canada from Pune University?

Sakshi Gupta
Aravind Desai,B.E. Mechanical Engineering, Savitribai Phule Pune University (2015)

According to the facts I learned from the internet, the process is very simple. You just have to precisely follow the steps given and all will be done.

  • Take all the required original documents which you need to send to WES.
  • Take 2 sets of photocopies of these originals.
  • Register yourself at Pune University Network as a student.
  • Choose the Third last option that is ‘Certificate Attestation’.
  • Then enter all the Documents which you want to get attested.
  • Click the ‘Save and Next’ button and enter the number of envelopes required.
  • Click ‘Save Envelope’ and then click ‘Back’.
  • Click on ‘Proceed to Print’ & choose your method of payment.
  • Click on ‘Save and Print’. Download 2 files, ‘Application form’ and ‘Fees Challan’.
  • Now go create an account at World Education Services and get your WES reference number after paying the fees online approx ?12,000.
  • Get 2 prints of WES application form. Do not fill them now.

Now you will have the following things in hand before visiting the University: Set of Original Documents, 2 Sets of photocopies, Application form, Challan, WES Reference Number. But this is incomplete, as you will need to fill WES form.

WES Form:

  • Fill both WES forms that you have.
  • Pay the required fees at the Bank counter.
  • Then they will accept your full application containing Photocopies & WES form along with the paid challan.

Visit after 8 days. Show the challan student copy. Check the documents for Sign and Stamp on all photocopies - including the WES form. Put all the documents inside including the WES form in the envelope, for being stamped.

Can I change college in my second year (Pune University) (B.E)?

Akanksha DubeyB.E.Civil MIT, Pune (2016)

One of my cousins graduated from Pune University and here are his insights regarding this.

It is possible to switch to another college under the same university. But it depends on the following factors.

  • You should not have any backlog in the first year.
  • Vacancy in the branch and college you are opting to.

By completing certain official procedures of the respective University and College, you can easily do so. However, you will need to have a good CGPA, i.e above 9. It is possible if you are studying in a non-autonomous or non deemed college. If that branch in that college has seats available then you surely have a chance.

Is a Provisional Degree Certificate the same as Passing Certificate in Pune University?

Simran ChowdhuriBE Electronics and Telecommunications, Savitribai Phule Pune University

Yes, a Provisional degree certificate is same as a passing certificate for Pune University. Since it takes time to issue the original degree certificate, so the university issues a provisional certificate along with the final semester marksheet. Most higher education institutions and Govt. offices accept provisional certificates, provided you didn't get your original degree certificate yet.

What is meant by the result held in reserve for the previous year by Pune University?

Raktim Tarafdar

The term "result held in reserve" at Pune University is typically used to refer to a situation where the university has not released the official results of a particular examination or test. This could be due to a number of reasons, such as

  • a delay in the grading process
  • a need for further review or investigation
  • concern about the integrity of the results

One of my friends faced a similar situation. He had appeared for his Eighth Semester as well as Tenth Semester since he had a backlog subject from my 4th year. His result was kept in reserve because despite being able to clear the final year, he could not clear his backlog subject from the 4th year. So your result could also be held in reserve at Pune University for the same reason.
