With a mission to impart quality higher education, in the year 2001, RL Jalappa Institute of Technology was established. It is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.

RLJIT is spread across 34 acres of land full with lush greeneries and rose gardens at Kodigehalli, Doddaballapur. The institute is offering 3 UG engineering courses in Computers Science, Mechanical and Electronics & Communication.

Good hostel facility is provided for both boys and girls separately on first come first serve basis. 3 types of mess is the main attraction of the hostel that is North Indian, North Karnataka & South Karnataka. Separate blocks for Seniors and Juniors are allotted.
