Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology (RSET), Kochi Admission 2024: B.Tech. Admission, Merit List

RSET offers B.Tech course in seven specializations, each for duration of four-year. The college is a member college of Kerala Catholic Engineering College Management’s Association (KCECMA) according to which 50% of total seats shall be filled by government through KEAM. The remaining 50% seats will be reserved as college seats to be filled on merit basis.

KEAM admission are regulated on the basis of merit assessed by giving equal weightage in 50:50 proportion to the marks obtained in the Entrance Examination for Engineering (Paper I & Paper II taken together) and the marks obtained in PCM in the qualifying examination of H.S.C or equivalent.

Key Points for B.Tech Admission:

• 5% of the total seats, in excess, is reserved for candidates to be admitted under Tuition Fee Waiver scheme.
• A candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2019.  No relaxation of age is given.
• KEAM is conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Govt. of Kerala.

The College also offers M.Tech degree in six specializations at post-graduation level. Like B.Tech, 50% of total seats shall be filled under government quota by Director of Technical Education, Kerala. A rank list will be displayed by DTE, Kerala for allotment of admissions.

The remaining 50% seats shall be occupied through college level admission on merit basis. The selection of the candidate will be based on the valid GATE scores.

However, if seats remain vacant even Non-GATE candidates can apply based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the test conducted by the college. Short listed candidates will be called to appear in personal interview.

The eligibility for each specialization is B.E/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in aggregate and a pass for SC/ST candidates. Or candidate with minimum 55% marks in AMIE/ AMIETE examination.

Key Points to remember for M.Tech Admission:

• Candidates who have obtained Bachelor’s degree from RSET will be given 5% weightage in calculating index merit.
• Sponsored candidates with more than two-year of experience will be given extra weightage based on their experience.
• Non-Sponsored Non-GATE candidates’ index merit will be calculated based on marks obtained in Qualifying Examination and Entrance Examination in 40:60 proportions.  
• Sponsored category index merit is calculated based on marks obtained in Qualifying Examination, Entrance Examination and Work experience in 40:50:10 proportions.
• Sponsored candidates with more than two-year of experience will be given more importance.

Candidate seeking admission into Ph.D. can opt among four specializations offered by the college. The norms and admission rules are as per the rules of APJAKTU.

There shall be 3 categories of Ph.D. admission:
(i) Full time scholars of the University with or without fellowship.  
(ii) Part time scholars who are faculty members of the University Departments or Affiliated College.
(iii) External part-time scholars who work in research organizations or R&D centers recognized by APJAKTU.

Key Points to remember for Ph.D. Admission:

• Candidates with Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent together with a Bachelor’s degree in same discipline with three-year of teaching experience in an AICTE approved college or NBA accredited department.
• Those with above qualification and having at least three years of work experience in a reputed industry.
• Candidates who have fellowship or scholarship support from a Government Agency.
