About SEC Chennai
Saveetha Engineering College (SEC) was established in 2001 by Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan, Dentist by profession. The college has a total strength of 4349 students in 12 UG courses which include Agricultural, Artificial Intelligence & Data Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Civil, Chemical, CSE, ECE, EEE, EIE, IT, Mechanical and Medical Electronics & also has 8 PG Courses including MBA. The college has got accreditation for 5 UG courses in 2018 for three years by NBA and ranked 124 by the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) for the academic year 2017-18 among all IITs, Central, State and Private Institutions in India.
In the year 2015, SEC was awarded the highest grade 'A' with a score of 3.19 on a scale of 4 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for 5 Years. The Institution was awarded as Autonomous from the academic year 2019-2020. - We can choose the time table and subjects for our comfort which is a good advantage in this college
- The infrastructure and faculty is good to having the college as a student.
- Dress code is quite good and they allow jeans and t-shirts for boys.
- I liked the infrastructure of the college which gives us a pleasant feel
- Infrastructure is best with many lab facilities and has great amenities in class for smart board teaching
- Our department faculties are really amazing and the freedom we receive from our HOD is also a thing to be mentioned.
Dislike
- Only a few software companies showed up, and the remaining ones are based on marketing, sales, administration, etc.
- There are unwanted fines in college, which is the worst thing in any private institution.
- Hostel rooms are good, but our bathrooms are really disgusting. Bad odors come throughout the day, and we cant even bathe properly. The food in the mess is also not good.
- Also, the facilities would persistently demand money even if the student is unwilling to take up the course.
