Seth Jai Parkash Mukand Lal Institute of Engineering and Technology, previously named JMIT Radaur is a privately owned engineering college, under affiliation to Kurukshetra University.
JMIT offers a four-year undergraduate B.Tech course and two-year postgraduate M.Tech course. The institute also offers MBA and MCA programs. Three-year graduate degrees are also available for Bachelor of Computer Applications(BCA), Bachelor of Business Administration(BBA), and two-year courses for Mater of Business Administration (MBA).
- 75% of the seats under B.Tech courses are reserved for admission via JEE Mains Paper 1 via an online counselling process.
- The rest 25% of the B.Tech seats are filled up at the Institute level based on the performance of students in AIEEE (before 2013).
- Students who have completed a three years diploma course from a recognised polytechnic institute can gain lateral entry into second year of B.Tech degree. The selection is done on the basis of the LEET Exam.
- To gain entry into M.Tech courses, candidates must qualify in the GATE paper of their respective subject.
- For the three years MCA program (Master of Computer Application), candidates are selected via the OLET-MCA-2010 Exam.
- For BBA, students are selected as per Kurukshetra University norms.

JMIT has an active and bustling Training and Placement Department with students being employed by a variety of recruiters ranging from Infosys, Wipro, L&T, Capegemini and many more. Seth Jai Parkash Mukand Lal Institute of Engineering and Technology, was established in 1995 by the Seth Ved Parkash Mukand Lal Educational society. It has an ubdergraduate enrollment of 2500 and postgraduate enrollment of 400, managed by an academic staff of over 175 (as per 2019 data). The campus spread over 200 acres and has Hostel facilities for both girls and boys.

JMIT B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for B.Tech should have 10+2 qualification in a non-medical stream, with an aggregate of 45% in at least 5 subjects including English. For SC/ ST candidates, this is relaxed to 42.75%. A counselling will be carried out by the Haryana State Counseling Society or HSCS in June.
JMIT B.Tech Selection Criteria
- Selection is done via the student’s performance in JEE Mains Paper 1, or AIEEE in case of students passing out before 2013.
- 20% of the seats are reserved for lateral entry. Candidates should have completed a 3-year diploma program in the relevant stream from an Engineering or Technical institute with an aggregate of 45% in all subjects, or completed a B.Sc with Physics and Maths and an aggregate of 45% can apply. The cut-off is relaxed to 42.75% for SC/ ST candidates. Selection is done via the LEET Exam conducted by HSCS in June.

To be eligible to apply for M.Tech:
- Candidates must have completed a B.E./B.Tech. or its equivalent either in the stream that they are applying for, from an AICTE approved institutions with overall 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA, preferably with valid GATE score. This is relaxed to 47.5% for SC candidates.
- Students who have completed M.Sc in the same stream from a UGC approved institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate, can also apply. They must possess a valid GATE score.
- In case of M.Tech in Computer Science, students with an MCA degree can also apply. They must have scored a minimum of 50% or the equivalent CGPA, with 47.5% being the cut-off for SC candidates.
- 2 seats are reserved for students with outstanding performance in sports. They should have represented their State or University in the Inter University or Senior National Level Championship or above. 15% of the seats are reserved for Foreign students. Out of this, 10% is solely for Foreigners and 5% for candidates whose guardians are employed in Gulf or South-East Asia countries.
Admission will be made firstly on the basis of a valid GATE score in the concerned subject. If seats remain empty, candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks obtained in their qualifying exam.

JMIT MBA Eligibility
To be eligible to applying for MBA at JMIT, candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree of three year’s duration in any discipline from this or any other recognized University. The candidate must possess an aggregate score of 50%, relaxed to 47.5% in case of SC candidates).
JMIT MBA Selection Criteria
For selection and allotment of seats:
- Performance of students in CAT/ MAT will be considered. The institute will also conduct a separate test with 80% marks resting on G.D. and 20% on Personal Interview. The composite marks will be used for seat allocation. Foreign students do not have to appear for this examination.

JMIT MCA Eligibility
For admission into 3-year MCA course at JMIT, candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology of at least 3 years duration and scored an aggregate of 50% marks, and studied Mathematics as a mandatory subject at 10+2 or graduation level.
- Students who have completed a BCA degree of at least 3 years duration and scored an aggregate of 50% marks can also apply.
- The cut-off is reduced to 47.5% in case of SC candidates.
- For lateral admission into MCA course, students can join in the third semester. They must have completed a B.Sc degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or Information Technology. The duration of the course should be at least 3 years and candidates should have a score of 50% with Mathematics as a mandatory subject at 10+2 level.
JMIT Selection Criteria
Admission is conducted via the OLET-MCA Exam conducted by the Haryana State Counseling Society. No other weight-age will be given in any category.
For lateral entry candidates, entrance will be via the LEET Exam, conducted by the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES).
How to Apply for JMIT?

- Fill in all the necessary personal details asked. Candidates have to upload their image and signature with a maximum size of 80kB, and dimensions 30mm X 45mm.
- The page asks if students require hostel and transportation facilities after enrollment.
- On the next page, fill out your choice of stream, and category (UG/ PG). Upload results and relevant document of all previous educational qualifications starting from Class X or its equivalent.
- Finally, the payment gateway opens. Payment can be made via Demand Draft, Debit/ Credit Card or Online Banking. The application fee is INR 500.
- Save the payment successful confirmaton for future reference
- You will be provided with a registration ID which you can use to log in later.
JMIT will conduct an offline counselling process in 3 rounds, with a fourth addtional round being subjected to the availibility of seats. Students will be notified of the date and time in advance. Items required to be uploaded or present during the admission process are:

JMIT Scholarships Offered
5% of the total sanctioned seats are reserved for students availing the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme. These will only be provided when the seats of thet course have been filled beyond 30% of its intake capacity.
- Students with a family income of less than INR 6,00,000 per annum can apply to avail the scholarship.
- The waiver is only limited to the tuition fee of the course and the candidate must provide for other expenses like accomodation and transporation if he chooses to avail them.
Students with more than 85% marks are awarded a one-time scholarship of INR 10,000. Student loans are available based on both - need and merit.
