TIST came into existence in 2002. The college is approved by AICTE as well as by the Government of Kerala. Apart from this, the college is accredited by NAAC and affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU).
Most of its programs are NBA accredited, In terms of placements, around 307 students in leading MNCs have been offered recruitments to the batch of 2019 till date.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility for admission for the B.Tech degree Course will be as per the guidelines of the Government of Kerala & KTU.
- A candidate should be of 17 years of age as on December 31, 2022.
- Needs to have an aggregate 50% marks in PCM.
- Students having NRI Quota won’t be evaluated based on KEAM, but an average 70% marks for PCM in the qualifying examination is desirable.

- A candidate needs to attend the counseling after clearing KEAM to secure a seat.
- Seat allotment is based on DTE Kerala Counselling.

- A candidate is required to fill the application form released by CEE (cee.kerala.gov.in)
- The eligible candidates have the option to register themselves and obtain login credentials.

The eligibility for admission for the B.Tech lateral entry as per the guidelines of the Government of Kerala & KTU:
- The candidate must be an Indian and age must not exceed 30 years.
- Must hold a Regular 3-year Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by any State Board of Technical Education or Govt. of India Institutions.
- Those who are appearing/appeared for the final year diploma examinations are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will produce the qualifying certificate at the time of admission.
