Food technology which has off lately gained recognition in India is a field of study applied to the selection, processing, distribution and use of food. It involves chemistry, life sciences, chemical engineering, nutrition, microbiology and dairy sciences too. With an aim to include a new line of educational discipline in their educational courses, the Amity University established Amity Institute of Food Technology in the year 2006 at Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The Institute had originally sought an approval for its Bachelor’s course in 2007 – 2008. The very first batch of students to pass out from the Institute was those studying B. Tech in the year 2011.

1. State-of-the-art laboratories included The Amity Institute of Food Technology very proudly presents five state-of-the-art laboratories in the form of laboratories for food microbiology & technology, food chemistry, instrumentation and research, sensory evaluation and food packaging. Further, it houses a Food Processing Hall wherein students can process plant as well as animal based foods
2. Value Addition Courses offered In addition to the main course, the Amity Institute of Food Technology includes other courses that can give the students an edge in the professional world. This list includes English, one of the languages of French, Spanish, German, Chinese and Japanese and Behavioral Sciences and Communication Skills.
