Ques. What is the admission and application process for Distance Learning at GNDU, Amritsar?

Ans. Admission to all the courses offered under Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar is made on the basis of Merit of Last Qualifying Examination. There is no entrance test for any course under the ODL program. The application process of the GNDU ODL is as follows:

• Generate Login ID and Password
• Register yourself by filling the application form and paying the registration fee. The registration fee for General category students is INR 500 and for the reserved category is INR 250.
• Visit the campus for the further process along with necessary documents.

Ans. The candidates seeking admission to law programs at GNDU must submit the application online for centralized counseling. The govt. of Punjab verifies the documents and application form of the applicant which further decides whether the student will get admission to the university or not. The 85 % of seats are reserved for the candidates from within the State as per the eligibility criteria of the Government of Punjab and 15 % is open to candidates of other States/ UTs on All India basis.

Ans. In case two or more students score the same entrance marks, their inter-se merit will be decided in the order of preference as follows -

• Candidates scoring higher marks in the qualifying examination will be given preference.

• Candidates older in age will be given preference.

• For B.P.Ed. and B.P.E.S, the university will calculate the merit of the students in the following way:

Written test - 60 marks

Sports Achievements - 40 marks

For B.P.E.S and B.P.Ed., the qualifying percentage for entrance examination is 50%.
