Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) Admission 2024: Dates, Eligibility, Selection Criteria

VIIT offers 4-year B.Tech degree courses in 7 specializations. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects.

The selection is based on the candidates’ rank in APEAMCET.  The seat allotment is made by Convener, EAMCET as per the stipulated rules of A.P State Government. Candidates will be called for counseling  APEAMCET  on the basis of the ranks secured by the candidates in the rank list.

Key points:

• Rank list will be prepared on the basis of candidates’ score in the entrance test.

The institute offers M.Tech courses in 5 disciplines for which the annual intake by the institute is 126. Candidates should have obtained a B.Tech degree in the relevant field with at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category) from an AICTE/ UGC approved institution recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The selection is based on the candidates’ rank in PGECET. Selections are also made through a valid rank in GATE. Seat allotment is made by Convener, PGECET as per the stipulated rules of A.P State Government.

Important points:

• The qualifying percentage marks for obtaining a rank in APPGECET is 25% i.e, 30 marks out of a total of 120. In the case of SC/ ST candidates, there will be no minimum qualifying marks for ranking of the candidates.
• Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be for candidates from other states.
• While filling the seats in the college, first preference will be given to the candidates qualified in GATE and remaining seats will be given to candidates qualified in APPGECET  as per their ranks in the merit list.

Vignan’s Institute also offers MBA and MCA courses. Candidates seeking admissions should have a graduate degree with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). For MBA admissions, they must have studied Mathematics at 10^th level. In the case of MCA program, they must have studied Mathematics at 12^th or at degree level.

The admissions are based on Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) conducted by the State Government.

Important points:

• ICET will consist of three sections: Analytical Ability, Mathematical Ability and Communication Ability.
• Candidates who have secured 25% qualifying marks in APICET (50 out of 200) and candidates belonging to SC/ST to whom qualifying marks have not been prescribed, shall be assigned the rank in the order of the merit on the basis of marks obtained in ICET.
• In case the qualifying degree is obtained through distance mode, it should have recognition by Joint Committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC/ DEB.
• Candidates appearing for the final year degree examination shall also eligible to appear for APICET.
