Established in 1968 the college is a well known Government College in West Bengal. It is affiliated to University of Kalyani and has been approved by UGC as well as accredited by NAAC. The college offers a number of Undergraduate programmes in the fields of Science, Arts and Commerce.
Spread over an area of around 7 acres, presently the college offers education to about 4,000 students. The admission to all courses is merit based and the students can apply by filling an application form online. The college offers admission to various undergraduate programs both as general as well as honours program. Admission to all the courses is strictly merit based. For honours programs both aggregate marks and the marks in the subject in which the candidate wants to take admission are considered whereas for general programs only aggregate marks are considered.
How to Apply?

- Register yourself through your mobile number and then login again. You will receive an SMS from the College with your Application Number. Keep it for future reference.
- Fill up the appropriate fields of the Application Form and choose programs of your choice. You can apply for a maximum of 4 Honours courses and 4 General courses.
- After that click SAVE and UPLOAD your recent passport size photograph
- Click the Preview button and make sure that the information supplied by you is correct.
- Click on ‘Make Payment’. Use only Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card etc.). Payment Instructions are given on that form.
- Now, download the application form and print it for your reference.

- Library: The College has a central library facility for the students stocked with a collection of about 13000 books on different disciplines. The library is enriched every year with new publications which are necessary for the students for preparing their study materials.
- Common room: There are separate and specious Students' Common rooms for boys and girls. The common rooms have pure drinking water facilities, colour TV, Indoor games facilities like Carom, Table Tennis etc.
- Gymnasium: The College has recently opened a Multigym Center funded by UGC during Xth plan. This can help the students to build their physique while studying.
- Canteen: There is a college canteen for providing snacks, tea etc. to the students at an affordable cost. It remains open during college hours only. It is a good place for students to hangout.
- Sports activities: There is a large playground on the college campus. During their leisure time, the students engage themselves in playing Football, Volleyball etc. Inter Class Tournaments and teachers vs. students friendship matches are held annually.
Other facilities like a medical room, computer labs and auditorium are also there.
