The university offers merit scholarship, merit cum means scholarship, and apart from these two scholarships all other scholarships are provided by the Govt., UGC such as UGC Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship, State Govt. - Every professor took good care of students, considering their problems and also providing a lot of encouragement.
- My university internship experience is good. The internship company is offering a stipend of Rs.
- Some NGOs provide stipends. For example, I worked in the Pratichi Institute & Trust, established by Dr. Amartya Sen, and I received a good stipend.
- The scholarship I received is the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, which is provided by the West Bengal Government for individuals who have passed their HS Exam or Undergraduate with good marks.
- Our library is one of the best, and one can find almost every book they need for their degree there.
- The quality of the meals is not very good, and you must apply for a hostel through the DSW.
- My university is one of the best universities in West Bengal as well as India.
Dislike
- Placements are very bad. Occasionally, though, in 3-4 years, a company visits and hires only 2-3 students. The condition of campus placements is much worse than what can be imagined. There was no training and placement officer, so there is no question of placement.
- Management sometimes becomes really poor. We recently heard a lot of chaos about the fee hike, especially for M.Phil and PhD students who do not receive as much benefit when compared to other universities in terms of the monthly stipend they earn.
