Knowledge Institute of Technology Admission 2024: B.Tech Admissions, Cut Off, Registration

Knowledge Institute of Technology offers undergraduate level engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech) courses in various disciplines. The basic eligibility criteria for admission is a pass in HSC/ 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry taken together. Candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in the last qualifying exam through Anna University’s TNEA counseling. Candidates seeking admission under management quota can apply for direct admission by contacting the institute.

Note: Sri Lankan Tamil refugees are eligible for TNEA counseling and candidates must apply under open category only, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria set by Anna University for TNEA candidates.

The Institute offers postgraduate level degree programs in four engineering specializations, viz. Industrial Safety Engineering, VLSI Design, Computer Science, and Embedded System Technologies. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to M.E. programs is a B.E./ B. Tech degree in the relevant or allied discipline with 50% marks.

Candidates are selected on the basis of their GATE/ TANCET score through TANCA counselling. GATE candidates are not required to take the TANCET exam, but must register for TANCA regardless.

Key Points for M.E. Admission:

• GATE candidates who have qualified the entrance exam in 2021, 2022 and 2023 only are eligible to apply for TANCA Counselling.
• GATE score from previous years are not acceptable.
• Candidates with B.E./ B. Tech degrees obtained through Distance Mode/ Weekend courses are not eligible for TANCA counselling.
• Candidates belonging to a state other than Tamil Nadu are exempt from reservation and must apply under the open category only.

Knowledge Institute of Technology offers Ph.D. programs in various disciplines of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the Ph.D. programs is a M.E./ M. Tech degree in the relevant discipline. Candidates securing 50% marks and above are eligible to apply for Ph.D. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of entrance test (conducted by the institute) and interview.

Applicants for the Ph.D. program may collect the application form from the institute campus by the prescribed application fee for the course. The complete application form must be submitted in person or via post before the assigned last date. Candidates who qualify the entrance test must necessarily appear for the interview conducted on the institute level.

Key Points for Ph.D. Admission:

• Candidates may pursue Ph.D. programs as full-time/ part-time as desired.
• Candidates with an M.Sc. degree in the relevant engineering discipline are also eligible to apply for Ph.D. programs, provided they meet the minimum marks eligibility criteria for the course applied.
