Knowledge Institute of Technology (KIOT) is a premiere educational institution located in Salem, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 2009 and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.
KIOT offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. level degree courses in various disciplines of engineering. The courses offered by Knowledge Institute of Technology are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute itself is accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with “B++” Grade.

Knowledge Institute of Technology offers undergraduate level engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech) courses in various disciplines. The basic eligibility criteria for admission is a pass in HSC/ 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry taken together. Candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in the last qualifying exam through Anna University’s TNEA counseling. Knowledge Institute of Technology M.E. Admission 2023
The Institute offers postgraduate level degree programs in four engineering specializations, viz. Industrial Safety Engineering, VLSI Design, Computer Science, and Embedded System Technologies. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to M.E. programs is a B.E./ B. Tech degree in the relevant or allied discipline with 50% marks.
Candidates are selected on the basis of their GATE/ TANCET score through TANCA counselling. GATE candidates are not required to take the TANCET exam, but must register for TANCA regardless.

Key Points for M.E. Admission:
- GATE candidates who have qualified the entrance exam in 2021, 2022 and 2023 only are eligible to apply for TANCA Counselling.
- GATE score from previous years are not acceptable.
- Candidates with B.E./ B. Tech degrees obtained through Distance Mode/ Weekend courses are not eligible for TANCA counselling.
- Candidates belonging to a state other than Tamil Nadu are exempt from reservation and must apply under the open category only.

Knowledge Institute of Technology offers Ph.D. programs in various disciplines of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the Ph.D. programs is a M.E./ M. Tech degree in the relevant discipline. Candidates securing 50% marks and above are eligible to apply for Ph.D. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of entrance test (conducted by the institute) and interview.
Applicants for the Ph.D. program may collect the application form from the institute campus by the prescribed application fee for the course. The complete application form must be submitted in person or via post before the assigned last date. Candidates who qualify the entrance test must necessarily appear for the interview conducted on the institute level.

Knowledge Institute of Technology Application Process 2023
Knowledge Institute of Technology fills its govt. quota seats through state-level counselling conducted by Anna University. Undergraduate level engineering candidates are admitted through TNEA counselling; postgraduate seats are filled through TANCA. The institute also accepts applications for management quota seats. Candidates seeking admission under management quota can contact the institute directly for information regarding the admission procedure.
The application and counselling process for govt. quota seats for admission to B.E./B.Tech and M.E. programs is as follows:
- Candidates may apply for TNEA/ TANCA counselling by visiting the Anna University website.
- The online application/ registration form must be duly filled with all requisite details.
- The prescribed application fee for TNEA/ TANCA can be paid online through various payment modes such as credit/ debit card, internet banking etc.
- Candidates can also choose to pay the application fee through demand draft drawn in favor of Anna University, Chennai.
- After submission of application form and payment of the prescribed application fee, candidate must take a printout of the complete application form for future correspondence.
- Candidate must send a copy of the complete application form along with all necessary enclosures to the Director of Admissions, Anna University or to the Principal of the College.
- Anna University publishes a merit list shortly after closing the application process based on the applicants’ merit/ entrance exam score.
- Candidates whose names are on the merit list must download the counselling call letter.
- He/ she is then required to appear for counselling on the prescribed dates for seat allotment.
- A DD for the prescribed counselling fee (INR 5000 for the current academic session) must be carried by the candidate along with the original copy of the counselling call letter.
- Candidates eligible for counselling must report at any of the bank counters at the Anna University premises and produce his/ her DD for obtaining the counselling form.
- Candidate with the highest rank gets the first opportunity to exercise his options, and the pattern follows.
- In the next step,candidate must sign the admission order and hand over the DD to the counsellor.
- He/ she must then report at the institute allotted (KIOT, in this case) with the allotment letter in order to complete the admission process.
