Master of Science [M.Sc] + Ph.D. (Biological Sciences) From IISc Bangalore, Bangalore

A minimum of first class or equivalent in Bachelor’s or an equivalent degree in Physical, Chemical or Biological Sciences (including Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Veterinary Sciences and Agricultural Sciences) or A minimum of first class or equivalent in BE/B Tech degree.

At the postgraduate level, the institute offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) in 18 specializations along with Master of Design (M.Des.) and Master of Management (M.Mgt). 

Admissions to the courses usually commence in the month of February every year. The Institute provides reservations to SC/ST/OBC/Person with disability (PWD) and Kashmiri-Migrant (KM) candidates.

The electives offered in M.Tech course are as follows

The M.Des program is offered in Product design and Manufacturing and M.Mgt is offered in Business Analytics & Technology Management.

IISc Bangalore M.Tech, M.Des, M.Mgt Eligibility: 

The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply for admission to M.Tech/ M.Des/ M.Mgt. programs:

• Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree holders in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Electronics followed by qualifications obtained through an examination conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE.
• Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for the M.Des program only)
• Master’s degree holders in Science including Physics with Electronics/ Instrumentation/Geology/ Computer Applications/ Physical Sciences/ Mathematical Sciences as applicable to individual departments offering M.Tech programs.

IISc Bangalore M.Tech, M.Des, M.Mgt Selection Criteria

All the candidates should possess valid GATE scores for M.Tech, GATE/CEED scores for M.Des, and GATE/CAT/GMAT scores for M.Mgt course. In the case of candidates with equal GATE score, their performance in the qualifying examination will be used to resolve the tie.
