MDI Gurgaon Admission 2024 (Open): Last Date, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

Admission to MDI Gurgaon is a 3 stage process for its Flagship PGDM, PGDM-HRM, PGDM-IB, which is described below:

Stage 1- Eligibility check and application

The student needs to register to apply to MDI Gurgaon before the CAT exam is held i.e. in the last week of November. Any student with the following eligibility can apply:

• At least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both class X and XII
• Bachelor's Degree (minimum 3 years for PGDM and PGDM-HRM; Minimum 4 years for PGDM-IB), with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
• Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelor's degree (or equivalent examination) can also apply to the PGDM and PGDM-HRM
• Applicants to the PGDM-IB programme must possess a minimum of 1 year (one year) work experience

Stage 2- Shortlisting

Candidates are short-listed for GD-PI Round from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2022 score, who have applied for admission to MDI Gurgaon and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme

The Shortlisted candidates need to login at MDI website and enter their order of programme preference for PGPM/PGP-IB/PGP-HRM. Preferences once filled will not be changed at any stage later on

Stage 3- Final Selection

After the GD-PI round between February - April, final admission offers will be made to successful candidates in April. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in GD-PI, academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience among others

When calculating the final composite score basis which offer letters are rolled out, The CAT Score is given a weightage of 55% and Personal Interview is given weightage of 30%. Rest 15% attributes to the complete Application Score which includes your marks in X, XII, Gender Diversity and Work Experience.

• General cut-off for MDI has been 93-95 percentile for PGDM and 95-96 percentile for PDGM-HR and PGDM-IB.

MDI Gurgaon PGDM Cut Off 2023

MDI Gurgaon cut off is not officially declared by the institute. However, as per the past trends, MDI Gurgaon cut off remains between 93 and 95 percentile in CAT 2022. 

Along with the CAT Exam score cut offs, MDI Gurgaon cut offs include Academic score cut offs; Final Selection Round GD-PI cut offs and the points awarded for work experience.

The MDI PGDM (BM) is an 18 month executive programme and is accredited by AMBA, the Association of MBAs (UK). The MDI PGDM (BM) is AICTE approved oldest course of the institute earlier run by the name of the PGDM (NMP) Programme. Following are the essential aspects of the MDI PGDM (BM) Programme selection process for its batch 2023.

MDI PGDM BM Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates must have obtained a CGPA of at least 50% in a bachelor’s degree of three years from a recognized university.
• Candidates also must have a minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in 10th, 12th, and bachelor’s degree.
• Candidates must also have a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification executive work experience as on March 31, 2023.

How to Prepare for MDI PGDM (BM) Admission?

Following are the prominent features of the PGDM (BM) admission criteria as underlined by MDI Gurgaon for its batch commencing 2023.

• Candidates seeking admission to MDI PGDM (BM) program are required to appear for CAT / XAT / GMAT entrance exam.
• Shortlisting of applicants for the selection process will be done on the basis of the details provided in the application form and their CAT / XAT / GMAT scores.
• The selection process for the PGDM-BM batch will be conducted in two rounds.The applicants would be shortlisted on the basis of their exam score in Round 1 for PI.
• Applicants applying on the basis of CAT / XAT / GMAT scores will be shortlisted through Round 2 of the MDI admission process for which the PI process will be conducted in April 23, 2023 (tentatively).
• The MDI PGDM (BM) selection process may also be conducted online through Zoom for which the shortlisted candidates will be intimated in advance.
• MDI Gurgaon admission is done after verification of all the documents and fee payment.

Successful applicants participating in the admission process of Round 1 will be made a provisional offer for admission in the end of April 2023 through the round 1 admission process. 

Similarly, MDI will provide a provisional admission offer to the successful applicants through Round 2. The selected applicants are required to submit the first installment of the fee by the given deadline, failing which their offer of admission would be withdrawn, without any further intimation. Selection Criteria for Self-Sponsored / Sponsored Candidates: The sponsored applicants should have a valid CAT / XAT / GMAT score to be eligible for the admission to MDI PGDM-BM Programme.

Selection Criteria for International Applicants: Foreign or NRI or PIO applicants are considered eligible for admission on the basis of their valid GMAT scores. Government of India (GOI) rules will be followed related to admission of these categories of candidates.

MDI Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Business Administration) is designed for Working Professionals residing or working in & around NCR. The course duration is 2-year.

Candidates interested in PGDM-BA must have a Bachelor’s Degree with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in class 10th, 12th & Graduation and Minimum of 5 Years of Executive Work Experience.

MDI Gurgaon PGDM-BA Selection Criteria:

Candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT / XAT / GMAT / MAT / ATMA / CMAT scores. Shortlisted candidates are further called for Personal Interview for Final Selection by the Institute.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Public Policy and Management (PGDM-PPM) at MDI Gurgaon is an 18-Month Full Time Residential Programme. Being one of the earliest schools to offer a management programme in the field of public policy, MDI Gurgaon follows the following admission eligibility and selection criteria for its PGDM-PPM batch commencing 2023:

MDI Gurgaon PGDM-PPM Eligibility Criteria

• The applicants must have secured minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both classes X and XII.
• The applicants must have acquired a three-year bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any recognized university/ institute. 
• A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification executive work experience as on March 31 of the admission year is required.

How to Prepare for MDI Gurgaon PGDM-PPM Admission?

• Candidates seeking admission to the PGDM-PPM program in MDI Gurgaon need to appear for the CAT / XAT / GMAT entrance test.
• Further, the Institute will release a shortlist of Candidates selected on the basis of Entrance Test.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interviews in July 2023.

MDI Gurgaon FPM program in management was started to provide knowledge for the scholarly needs in the Management industry. The institute offers two Fellow courses.

• Fellow Programme in Management (Residential)
• Fellow Programme in Management (Non-Residential)

When it comes to the programme design, the FPM (Non-Residential) programme is quite similar to the FPM (Residential) course.

MDI Gurgaon FPM Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have a master's degree from any stream with minimum 60% marks.
• For Five years integrated Master’s degree candidates, it is mandatory to have minimum 60% aggregate marks.
• Must have a minimum 50% in bachelor’s degree, Class 10 and Class 12.
• In addition to this, FPM (Non-Residential) candidates must have a minimum 10 years work experience. 
• The age limit for FPM (Non-Residential) candidates is 35 Years. 
• For FPM admission, Final year candidates appearing for the final examination can apply.
• Both FPM (Residential) and FPM (Non-Residential) candidates must have valid standard test scores like CAT / GMAT / GRE / UGC-JRF / GATE.

Note: Full time PGDM alumni from MDI, IIMs, XLRI & FMS are given relaxation from standard test scores. 

How to Prepare for MDI FPM Admission?

When it comes to the programme design and selection process, both programms are quite similar. Following are the main highlights of how to prepare for both FPM (Residential) and FPM (Non-Residential) being run by MDI.

• Candidates seeking admission to MDI FPM program are required to appear for CAT / GMAT / GRE / UGC-JRF / GATE entrance exam.
• Candidates are shortlisted Based on the entrance exam score.
• Shortlisted candidates are called for the Personal Interview round conducted by MDI in February 2023 at the MDI Campus, Gurgaon.
• The standard score requirement might be waived for the full-time 2-year PGDM / MBA alumni from MDI, IIMs, FMS & XLRI.
• The MDI FPM (Residential) and FPM (Non-Residential) final merit list will be prepared based on the various components such as Test scores, academic performance, work experience, Interview Performance, etc.

MDI Gurgaon FPM Financial Assistance

• FPM scholarship will be given for a maximum of four years for non-MBA students and three years for MBA students.
• For the first two years, the scholarship will be Rs. 30,000/- per month and for the remaining duration it will be Rs.35,000/- per month.
• In addition, a total contingency grant of Rs. 80,000/- and conference grant of Rs. 2,50,000/- shall be provided to FPM scholars 
• The contingency & conference grant is mainly provided by MDI to support their books purchase, fieldwork, research paper presentations, etc.
