About MCC Bangalore

MCC Bangalore is recognized by the University Grants Commission. MCC Bangalore is a women's college located in Bangalore's Vasanth Nagar. The college has been re-accredited by NAAC with an A+ Grade (4th Cycle) and is affiliated with Bangalore City University. According to India Today, MCC Bangalore is among the top three in Karnataka for its offerings undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Studies and Management. 

At the UG level, the college offers 11 programmes in the faculty of Arts, 19 in the faculty of Science and 8 in the faculty of Commerce, Business Studies and Management. At the PG level, MCC offers 19 programmes under the autonomous system. It also offers 4 evening Postgraduate Diploma Programmes in Business administration, 2 career oriented courses, 6 skill based programmes in Healthcare and Cosmetology, Baking, Garment construction and fashion design as well as two Diploma Programmes in Business Administration. In the year 2017, MCC has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Binary University, Malaysia to provides International Twinning Programme MBA and M.Sc. in Tourism Management along with Industry Specialist Professional (ISP) certification.

MCC Bangalore has been awarded the Potential for Excellence label by the UGC, Star College Status by the DBT, and Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) status by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India. Admission to the B.Com. professional, industry-integrated, business process services, tourism and travel management, and regular programmes are solely based on merit. An entrance exam will be the basis for B.Com IAF-ACCA, SF-CMA, and CF-CPA programme admission. Admission to the BCA programme will be approved following a walk-in interview. Entrance to the B.A/B.Sc and B.Voc programmes will be granted following a walk-in interview. All PG programmes have a merit-based admissions policy.

In the year 2006, the Commerce Department was recognized as a Research Center by Bangalore City University. This was followed by the Biotechnology, Botany, Electronics, Life Science, Home Science (Human Development, Food Science & Nutrition) and Economics Departments in the year 2015. Further IGNOU has recognized nine of the departments as Research Centers from the academic year 2010 - 2011. Further, the institute has been registered with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) and was recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India (Act 1988). MCC Bangalore has been accorded the status of star college by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.

Various companies visit the campus for recruitment some of which are Myntra, Cisco, McKinsey, Cognisant, Wipro, Wells Fargo, EY, Deloitte, Barclays, TCS, Taj, The Hindu, Big basket, Thomson Reuters, Fortis, Dell, Thomas Cook, etc. offering an average package of INR 4.6 LPA and reaching highest up to INR 21.5 LPA. Students have been placed in various sectors that include Aviation, Banking, Consulting, Operation, FMCG, Hospitality, Journalism, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Sales and Marketing, Travel and Tourism, etc.

Ans. You can enter class XI details in the form and complete the application form. Once the application form is generated you can see a link “Edit Marks “ under the status menu. You can update the class XII marks once the results are announced.

Ques. Can I apply for more than one course in the same application?

Ans. It is not possible to apply for more than one course in the same application form(No Preference). You need to apply separately. You can use the same Unique Portal for Applying for different Courses.

Ques. I always receive the message of ‘invalid phone number’ while filling the application.

Ans. It is advised not to use + while entering the country code for any number.

Ques. I paid the money for the application process but my status is showing as incomplete.

Ans. After payment, if you do not receive the 6 digit application number for UG and 7 digits for PG Courses, then your application process is incomplete and will go in for refund process. The refund will take about 15 days and must be checked with your bank.

Ques. When is the last date to apply for a course?

Ans. There is no last date for any course once the seats are full Applications will be closed.

Mount Carmel College is one of the finest in Bangalore. It has received star college award for the science department. The campus has a great student crowd with fantastic energy. 

The college has good infrastructure. Every class has a hybrid board for presentation. The campus has a lot of uncluttered spaces to socialize and study. The sports facilities are pretty good as well. The basketball and the fields are well-maintained. The campus also has a well-equipped gym. 

The professors are well-qualified and helpful. The undergraduate courses taught at the college have a decent balance between theoretical and practical subjects. 

Mount Carmel College placements are pretty good. In the recent placement, the median CTC offered to students was INR 3 LPA. The number of companies visiting the campus is increasing each year. Big MNCs like Wipro, Dell, E&Y, JP Morgan, etc. visit the campus drive.

One of my friends studied at Mount Carmel College. According to here, there is a lot to know about a college before you make any decision.

  • Location: It is located in one of the posh areas of Bangalore and is 5 mins from MG road. 
  • Infrastructure: Mount Carmel College has a good infrastructure. The labs are well equipped and air-conditioned.
  • Attendance: Attendance should not be taken lightly here as falling short of the criteria will have consequences. 85% of attendance is compulsory.
  • Faculty: The science department faculty is very reputed. They are cooperative and rarely do students face problems due to them.
  • Canteen: The canteen is hygienic and affordable.

Mount Carmel College has an annual college festival also which is visited by colleges all over Delhi. One of the highest points for the college festival was when Mohit Chauhan visited the Gargi during the festival.
