Students who have got at least 55% in the subject, or 50% in total along with 45% in the subject, at the 10+2 level and have passed in English are qualified for applying for enrollment to the 1st year Hons subject to all C.U. rules.
Candidates who have passed the 10+2 level examination with five subjects of which the compulsory subject should be English, having full marks of 450 are mandatorily qualified to apply.
For students qualifying from other boards or universities, submission of transfer certificate in original in one month from the date of confirmation of admission in the college is obligatory else admission will be treated as canceled.
Students who have ceased their studies & wish to continue would need to deposit a recommendation letter from an established member of the society. Such a letter must clearly state the reason for the gap in education and consent for the candidate’s ethical character.

How to Apply for Sushil Kar College Calcutta?

Sushil Kar College accepts online applications, for application form the students are required to visit college site www.susilkarcollege.com.

The online interface will be open from 4th June to 18th June. After the online submission, the students are required to take a printout of the application form (College copy + Student Copy) and submit the application charges of 120/-. The application charge is Rs. 120/-.

The students need to submit the following records to the college

Printout of the application form
College Copy and the Student Copy of the application form appropriately stamped by the bank.
Attested photocopy of the H.S. mark sheet.
Attested photocopy of Madhyamik admit card
All originals of the Xeroxed records must be delivered amid submission of the application form
The merit list for all subjects will be distributed on the college site and notice board.
Admission dates for Honours and Common candidates will be mentioned on the college site and take note board.

Sushil Kar College Calcutta Scholarships

Post-Matric Grant in the form of an Internship for the SC/ST/OBC students from Central and State Government.

Ans. Students are given essential scholarly assignments that require them to attend various workshops and skill-enhancing short-term courses, use library facilities, and even the individual guidance of the teachers. Debate, discussion, extempore event, etc. are organized through which the member students in specific get the scope for enhancing their communication ability and building self-reliance. Courses like Mathematics including Statistics, Commerce, Financial studies, computers are there to extend the practical aptitudes of the learners. Inter-class activities, intra-college events, Navin Baran / farewell, etc.

Ques. What are the various facilities offered by the college?

Ans. Distant from the madding swarm of the cities, the college gets its oxygen from the pollution-free ambiance which in turn brings bliss of life for the students, instructors, and other staff.

With the establishment of new divisions and the expanding number of students it became essential to extend the building zone. A new floor zone of 1000 square meters has been made within the Northern Square to meet this requirement..

Ques. How is the teaching faculty of the college?

Ans. The college employs a perfect combination of experienced as well as youthful and energetic group of teaching staff. Many of them are even Ph.D. holders. Presently another seven faculty members are doing their Research Works.

A few of them are moreover locked in different project reports. There are even a few teachers having M.Phil. degrees. Moreover, they are frequently taking part in seminars, workshops, conferences, symposiums, refresher courses, and introduction programs.

Some of them are also engaged in getting their content and reference books published for degree-level students. Teachers are also equipped to use LCD, OHP, Sound System as an advanced teaching methods and also making extensive use of Internal assessment, Field Trips, and Educational Trips.

Ques. What are some of the companies visiting the campus for recruitment purposes?

Ans. It might vary from course to course. However the placement opportunities are neither too good nor too bad. For some courses like B.Sc. (pure) the average salary offered is Rs 15000 per month with companies like TCS, Infosys visiting the campus almost every year. However for other courses like B.Com (program) the placement cell is not that active as compared to others.
