Pillai's College of Architecture Facilities

The Pillai's College of Architecture is located on a huge area of land and has lush greenery surrounding it. All kinds of facilities are available here for students and faculty use. The following are the details of the same.

Lecture Room /A.V. Room: This space is used by the PiCA for theory lectures, guest lectures, and various co-curricular events. It is well-resourced with amenities such as a digital projector, WIFI, LAN connection, and speaker facilities. At present, 80 students can be accommodated here.

Conclaves: The Pillai's College of Architecture has built 2 conclaves namely Conclave 1 and Conclave 2 with 156.44 sq. mt and 130.38 sq. mt of floor area respectively. The accommodation capacity of both the conclaves is around 100 people. Both the conclaves are air-conditioned and equipped with the facility such as WIFI, a Projector with a screen, Speakers with fixed and portable microphones. These conclaves are used to conduct guest lectures, seminars, workshops, faculty development programs, etc.

Library: A cutting-edge, and advanced Knowledge Center exists in the college and is spread over an area of 202 sq. mt. The library hosts a core collection of 7200+ valuable books, reference books, textbooks, national and international periodicals, bound journals, University papers, project reports, standards, and non-print materials such as CDs, maps, etc. In addition, there is a separate reference collection consisting of Encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, and atlases. More than 200 books are added to the collection every day. Other facilities available in the library are WiFi, scanning, printing, and photocopy facilities.

Cyberspace in Library: The Library of PiCA has a dedicated cyberspace and it is developed solely for students' use. Students can easily access the online collection of the PiCA library, do their research work as all computers have internet connections and one common printer.

E-Learning Studio: This facility has been developed in college to produce high-quality E-learning content for both students and the general community. Here instructors directly connect with the audience while creating content on a light board. Everything ranging from state-of-the-art recording software and hardware issues is available here to ensure the creation of top-notch E-learning materials.

Computer Center: It is situated on the 2nd floor of the college and is spread over an area of 60 sq. mts. This facility aims at improving the digital literacy of students and staff members. The computer center is equipped with the latest ICT facilities, Projector, Wi-Fi, and internet LAN connection to each PC. 70 Desktops are installed here for use and an internet facility is also available.

Sports and Cultural Facility: The PiCA has developed enough infrastructure for various indoor and outdoor games, to keep students physically fit and mentally healthy. Apart from this, the PiXA campus has a synthetic floor with a multi-purpose sports ground for students to play and enjoy games like basketball, football, tennis, and volleyball. It also has 3.5 acres of regular playgrounds for cricket, football, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and other athletic events.

Gymnasium: A highly advanced gym with the latest equipment has been established in the college. Both students and staff members can use this facility when free for different kinds of workouts. The gym is spread over an area of 250 sq. mts. It has a changing room and toilet facility.

Stilt Area: The stilt area is nothing but a semi-covered multi-purpose area of 220 sq. Mts on the PiCA campus. This space is mainly used for activities such as dance, drama practices, exhibitions, etc. In addition, yoga sessions according to the ailments, meditation techniques, breathing techniques, and Pranayama are also conducted here from time to time.

Auditorium: The PiCA Auditorium has an intake capacity of 500 people and it is located over an area of 406.56 sq. mt. Various formal and cultural events like Marathi Bhasha Diwas, Fashion Shows, dance and drama competitions, orientation workshops, students and faculty programs, etc. are organized here. The facility is fully A.C. with attached male and female toilets. Other facilities available in the auditorium include Wi-Fi and LAN connections for the internet, a projector with screen, fixed and portable mic, HD sound systems, acoustical panels, and lighting.

Canteen: A canteen covering an area of 428 sq.mt has been built in the college to serve delicious, freshly cooked, and hygienic food items and snacks to students and staff members at an affordable price. Students also come here to engage in conversations and discussions on various topics, relieving stress and rejuvenating themselves.

Hostels: Pillai's College of Architecture provides a homely atmosphere to students away from their homes, and offers separate accommodation facilities to both girls and boys. Upon request, students are allotted single bedrooms with air conditioning. At present, more than 600 students stay in the Pillai Hostel facilities.
