Government Arts & Commerce College, Indore Admissions 2024: Courses, Eligibility, Selection Criteria

The college offers various programs in a large number of disciplines and below are the UG, PG, Diploma, and PhD courses provided by the institute. The duration of the under-graduate courses is three years.

Selection Process

The selection process for any UG course is as follows:

• Selection criteria vary from course to course.
• The interested candidate needs to fill the admission form of the college within the stipulated time period.
• Merit list is declared by the institute of the selected candidates either based on marks scored in entrance test or merit basis.
• The selected candidates are required to submit the documents (with originals) for documents verification.
• The acceptance of the student is granted after ensuring the validity of the submitted documents.
• Selected candidates are then required to pay the college fees in the stipulated time. In case of failure to do so the admission will be revoked.

Documents required from candidates 

• Attested copy and original marks certificate of the last exam passed
• ID proof (Aadhar/ Driving License /PAN Card /Passport)
• Migration certificate from the institute last attended
• Character certificate from the institute last attended
• Passport size photographs
• Attested caste certificate (if applicable)
• Attested PwD certificate (if applicable)

While the duration for post-graduate courses is 2 years except for Master of Journalism and Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Application, these courses are for 1 year. The MA program is offered in the following specializations:

The college requires a passing certificate from a recognized board and university. Following are the eligibility criteria for each course:

• Merit list is prepared by the institute of the selected candidates either based on marks scored in entrance test or merit basis.
• The selected candidates are required to submit the documents (with originals) for documents verification.
• The admission is granted to the student after ensuring the validity of the submitted documents.
• Shortlisted candidates are liable to pay the full amount of fee and other charges. In case of failure to do so the admission will be revoked.

The Government Arts and Commerce College of Indore offers MBA program in dual specializations for a duration of 2 Years.The MBA program is offered in the following specializations.

Eligibility

Graduation wth minimum 50% marks in aggregate for unreserved (General) Category & Minimum 45% Marks for SC, ST & OBC

Selection Criteria

Admission to the MBA program will be offered on the basis of CET score. Candidates having a valid CAT/ MAT or any other national level entrance exam score are exempted from the entrance test.

The college offers financial aid to economically and socially weaker candidates, few of the scholarships and concessions are mentioned below:

Types of Scholarships:

1. Post metric Scholarship- This can be availed by SC and ST students who are domicile of Madhya Pradesh. The SC student whose family income is less than 6 lakhs can take benefit under this scheme, whereas for ST students there is no such bar.
2. MP Government Welfare Schemes-

1. Gaon ki Beti: This is a state government scholarship of Rs. 5000/- given to a girl student who stays and passes her 12th in a rural area with first division marks.
2. Vikramadiya Scheme: Under this scheme student from general category who are living below the poverty line with father's income below 42,000/- per annum are exempted from fee.
3. Pratibha Kiran Scheme: Rs. 5000/- per annum is given to a girl student with first division in 12th from an urban area school and coming from below poverty line category.
4. Research Scholarship for SC/ST/ students: This is given to SC and ST students of Madhya Pradesh who are pursuing their PhD and whose family income is less than 6 lakhs for SC students, there is no such bar for ST students.
5. Scholarships for Differently abled Students: A student of Madhya Pradesh with first division marks in class XII and 40% disability can take benefit of this scheme.
6. OBC and Minority Scholarship Scheme: A student of Madhya Pradesh with 50% marks in the previous exam and family income less than 2 Lakhs can take benefit of this scholarship.
7. Unified Scholarship Scheme: A student of Madhya Pradesh with family income not more than Rs. 54,000 is eligible for the scholarship who fulfils below-mentioned qualifications.
