Eligibility criteria
B.Tech
- The candidate must have passed 12th class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE or equivalent by scoring a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately.
- The candidate must have additionally passed English as a subject of study (core/ elective/ functional) in the qualifying examination.
B.Tech (lateral entry)
- For diploma holders- The candidate must have completed three years diploma in any of the following branches with a minimum aggregate of 60% from any recognized Diploma awarding institute/board recognized by AICTE: Computer Engg; Automobile Engg; Chemical Engg, Civil Engg, Construction Engg, Electrical Engg, Electronics & Communication Engg, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical Engg., Maintenance Engg., Plastic Engg., Printing & Publishing, Production Engg., Public Health & Environmental Engg., Tool & Die Making.
- For B.Sc Graduates- The candidate must have scored 60% in aggregate and must have passed Mathematics as a subject from any recognized University.
Selection Process
B.Tech
- Applicants must appear for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main Paper 1 Conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
- Based on the merit of JEE MAINS, the seats shall be allotted.
B.Tech (lateral entry)
Admissions to this course would be based on the merit in IPU CET
NOTE- Candidates with diploma in Architecture are not eligible for lateral entry to Engineering program
How to Apply for GNIT?
To apply for IPU CET Counselling, the following steps need to be followed:
- Candidates need to visit the official website of GGSIPU- http://www.ipu.ac.in/. On the home page of the website, they will find the option.
- Candidates will have to enter their CET Roll No., Date of birth and mobile number and then will have to submit application fee of INR 1000 to participate. The fee can be paid through Challan/ Net Banking.
- Candidates need to check their fee payment status form the official website and take the printout of it for future process.
- Next, the candidates need to register themselves by filling CET details of the course & after authentication enter the academic & contact details. Meanwhile, a login ID & password will be sent.
- Take two printouts of the registration form. One will be required for document verification and the other one should be retained by the candidate.
- Next, the candidates will mark their preferences. They need to select the required streams and colleges for seat allocation. It is advised to fill maximum choices as possible, as it increases the chances of getting the desired seat.
- After completion of choice filling process, the result of seat allocation round 1 shall be out. Those who had not paid the fees or completed the registration or choice filling shall not be considered.
- If a seat has been allotted, then print the provisional allotment letter and pay the required fee to confirm the seat. The candidate then needs to report at the allotted college along with the fee receipt, required certificates and documents. Failing to do so will lead to cancellation of the seat.
- If the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and does not want to participate further he can freeze the seat by clicking on Freeze option.
- For the second round, candidates who after choice filling were not allotted any seat or those who were allotted and reported at the institutes, have not withdrawn the fee and have not freezed their seat shall be considered. They will be eligible to make changes in their choices. Those allotted a seat need to similarly pay the fee and report to the institute for document verification.
- Spot round of counselling is the last round. In this round the facility of fee withdrawal shall not be given. It is available for round 1 &2.
