National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Patna is a government institute, located in Patna, Bihar. NIFT Patna Courses
NIFT Patna offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Continuing Education Programme courses. For undergraduate degrees, it offers B.Design in 4 specializations and B.F.Tech in Apparel Production. For postgraduate degrees, it offers a Master of Fashion Management. It also offers a one-year Continuing Education Programme in the field of Fashion and Clothing Technology. NIFT Patna Admission 2024
Admission to NIFT Patna is based on the national-level entrance examination conducted by NIFT. Admission is given to the students obtaining the highest merit according to the availability of seats and reservation criteria. The selection criteria for admission is different for different courses.
How to apply for admission in NIFT Patna?
- Visit the official website of NIFT (https://nift.ac.in/ ) and click on ‘Fresh Candidate’ to create a Log In.
- Fill the details to register for any program and click on ‘Submit’
- Log in using email ID and DOB to complete the application form.
- Fill all the required details in the online application form and click on ‘SAVE’
- Upload the photograph and signature.
- The application fee has to be paid through the online payment gateway(Credit Card/ Debit Card) or through Bank Demand Draft(DD) issued in favor of “NIFT HO” payable at New Delhi.
- Candidates are advised to keep a print out/photocopy of the Application Form for further reference along with proof of payment.
All eligible candidates would have to go through the examination process. Entry to the Examination Centre will be allowed with admit cards only. Admit Cards of provisionally eligible candidates will be available for download from the official website. The result of the entrance examination will be displayed on the NIFT website. Selected candidates will be called for counseling. The candidates need to visit the campus for counseling and further admission process.
Reservation of seats
The seats reserved for SC / ST / OBC (Non Creamy)/ GEN-EWS/ Person With Disability (PWD)/ Foreign Nationals / SAARC/ NRI/ OCI/ State Domicile, in each programme are as under

Note: 7 supernumerary seats are reserved for the students belonging to the state of Bihar under the category of State Domicile.
Documents Required
The following documents along with the photocopies shall be required for Admission after qualifying the entrance examination:
- Original certificates of the qualifying examination
- Bank Draft(s) of requisite fee in favor of “NIFT HO” has to be bought.
- Proof of date of birth (Secondary School Mark Sheet & Certificate) (Original and Photocopy).
- SC/ST/OBC- Non-Creamy/ PWD/GEN-EWS (supported with requisite Certificate).
- Basis of funding of the tuition fee/ certificate of the parents' income
- Certificate of Medical Fitness to be signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format in original
- Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- for seeking provisional admission only in case, the result of the qualifying examination is yet to be declared.
- An undertaking regarding Anti-Ragging.
- An undertaking regarding a refund of fee

NIFT Patna Placement
The placement in NIFT is centralized for all centers and disciplines. Companies can employ students from any campus or course of the institute through two routes which are facilitated by the institute:
- On-Campus Placements: Companies can register for campus placements. Upon being given a confirmed time and date, they may come to the campus for the placement procedure.
- Pre-Placement Offers (PPO): Companies can extend a job offer to students before the on-campus placement. Acceptance of the offer is considered as job placement. In order to provide a fair opportunity to all, such students are not allowed to participate in the On-Campus placement. These offers may be made on the basis of internships/ training/ projects undertaken by the students in the said company.

NIFT Patna Scholarship
The financial strategy of NIFT places student development as a key priority. A considerable sum from NIFT Development Fund is effectively put to use in this core area every year. The criteria to be eligible for the scholarship are as below:

NIFT Patna Facilities
The following facilities are provided at the NIFT Patna Campus:
- Hostel: NIFT Patna offers semi-furnished accommodation for female students only. Mess services are available to all hostellers. Other facilities include RO Water Purifiers and coolers, Washing Machine, Refrigerator, Gym, 2 huge Common Rooms, Indoor/ Outdoor sports facilities in the campus like Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, etc.
- Canteen: The campus is housed with a cafeteria that provides fresh, hygienic and healthy food at reasonable rates. The cafeteria is Wi-Fi enabled, allowing the students to utilize their free time to the fullest.
- Healthcare: Medical aid is available on campus. A doctor and nurse are available to attend to the general medical concerns of the students. A psychologist and an on-campus Counsellor are also available on Campus to counsel students.
- Resource Centre: This center caters to the information needs of the students, faculty, and staff. It is the information center for the academic activities of the NIFT Patna Centre. It manages activities related to the regular acquisition, processing of information, and dissemination of information to its users.
- Incubation Cell: The cell aims at promoting Fashion, Lifestyle, and related businesses by providing them mentoring support. In order to support and enable the start-ups, NIFT Patna has identified an enclosed area of 4000 sq ft on its campus. This enclosed space is to be developed as a co-working space for start-ups which would receive incubation from NIFT Patna.
- Accessory Design Lab equipped with Lathe machine and various other cutting, drilling, and welding machines.
- Other equipment facilities include 3D Printer, Photography Studio, Mac Lab, Garment Construction Lab, Pattern making Lab, Textile Design Studio, Textile Testing Lab, Digital Studios and IT Labs, and Weaving Studio.
