DBS, Dehradun provides M.Sc and MA programs in various disciplines. M.Sc. (Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology) and M.A. (English) courses are offered under Self Finance Scheme.
For admission in M.Sc. and M.A. Geography, students have to attach scan copy of mark sheets of B.A. and B.Sc. programs. Admission will be offered on the basis of merit determined by the percentage marks obtained in Graduation.

Students can apply for BA, B.Sc, MA and M.Sc programs by following the given steps:
- The students are required to fill the online merit cum admission form.
- Attach scanned copies of mark sheet of the qualifying examination, photo and certificates in order to earn preference points.
- For Admission in M.Sc. I and M.A. I Geography, attach scanned copy of mark sheets of B.A. /B.Sc 1st, 2nd and 3rd years.
- For photo and candidate’s signature should not be more than 5 KB and not more than 500 KB for other documents.
- For Admission in B.Sc. 1st year, the academic merit will be calculated by considering the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, & Mathematics in Mathematics Group and of Physics, Chemistry & Biology in Bio Group respectively in the qualifying examination. Fill separate merit form for each group.
- For admission in the B.A.1st year, the academic merit will be calculated by taking into consideration the marks obtained in best five subjects in the qualifying examination.
Instruction for Submission of Admission cum Merit Form before the Admission Committee:
Shortlisted candidates may get admission on production of relevant documents before the Admission Committee after counseling. The candidate will have to deposit fee on the same day otherwise his/her right of admission will be forfeited.
- Produce all the required documents in original before the Admission Committee.

DBS (PG) College, Dehradun Reservation Criteria 2023
At present 19%, 4% and 14% seats are reserved for SC, ST and OBC categories respectively. There is also a provision for horizontal reservation of 30%, 5%, 3% and 2% for women, defense personnel and/or their dependents, physically handicapped, dependent of freedom fighters respectively.
- In the case of OBC, candidates are required to produce non- creamy layer certificate of their parents of preceding financial year.
- For regular courses, 90% of seats in the college are reserved for candidates of Uttarakhand and 10% for other states.
- The candidates belonging to SC/ST category shall be allowed a relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility criteria or minimum cutoff.
