Darrang College offers various UG courses for students to apply for. Students can chooses from B.Sc., B.A. and B.Com courses.

2. Any one of the following groups of subjects:

   3. Zoology / Biotechnology / Home Science + Botany / Biotechnology / Home Science + Chemistry.
   4. Zoology / Home Science + Botany / Home Science + Geography / Home Science.

• B.A. (General): No. of seats – 200

Subjects combinations that students can choose:

1. English.
2. M.I.L / Alternative English.
3. Any two groups from the following:
   1. Economics / Philosophy.
   2. Political Science / Geography / Home Science / Psychology.
   3. Education / History.
   4. Nepali Second Language.
   5. Sociology.

• B.Com (General): No. of seats – 75

1. Fundamentals of insurance / Business Mathematics.

Darrang College Admission Process 2023

The admission process for Darrang College is as follows:

1. Students have to first, download the application form from the college website.
2. After filling up the application form, students need to submitted the application form along with INR 200 (application fee) to the college office.
3. Application fee can be submitted in cash or by using a Demand Draft.
4. Admissions are based strictly on merit.
5. Candidates can apply for multiple courses. But they will have to apply using different application forms for each course.
6. After the submission of the application form, the college will release the cut-off lists according to which the students can apply for their desired courses.
7. During the admission date students will have to submit the following documents:

• Mark-sheet and Pass Certificate of the last qualifying examination.
• Age certificate / HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) Admit Card.
• Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended, testifying his/her character.
• Certificate for reserved candidates. (wherever applicable)
• Certificate / documents for Co – curricular activities.
• Gap Certificate (if applicable). If the students have any gap in their academic years. However, candidates who have more than three years’ gap are not eligible for admission.

Some points to keep in mind during admission:

• Students are not allowed to take admission in more than one course simultaneously. If it is, their admission will be canceled.
• Subject combinations cannot be changed after admission.
• Incomplete forms will be rejected.

Darrang College also offers PG courses that candidates can opt for. Students can choose from PG courses such as M.A. Assamese, M.Sc. Zoology or M.Sc. Botany. The admissions to the PG courses for the college is done according to the University of Guahati.

The college has also send out a notice that it will soon start offering PG courses for Physics, Geography and MBA. Although it has not been officially announced.

Admission Procedure

1. First, candidates have to download the application form from the University website. Candidates can also get the application form from the university itself.
2. An application fee of INR 400 will have to be paid by cash or Demand Draft.
3. Students will have to submit the application form to the University office.
4. During the admission students will have to submit the following documents:
   • Degree mark sheets, Certificates from the Head of the Institution last attended.
   • HSLC Certificate or Admit card for age verification.
   • Registration certificate of the last course attended.
   • Relevant certificate for reserved candidates, if applicable.

Students can also apply for various Distance courses that the college has to offer. The college offers Distance courses in various fields in collaboration with IDOL (Institute of Distance and Open Learning of Guahati University) and IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University).

1. Under IDOL of Gauhati University the College provides
   • Correspondence courses in Assamese, English, History, Political Science, Economics and Mathematics.
   • PG Diploma courses in Sales and Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Computer Application.

2. Under IGNOU the College offers
   • Certificate courses in: Disaster Management, Tourism Studies, Environmental Studies, Human Rights, Guidance, Labour and Development, Consumer Protection, Rural Development, Teaching of English as a Second Language, Participatory Forest Management, Laboratory Techniques.
   • Diploma Courses in: Tourism Studies, Creative Writing in English.
   • Post Graduate Diploma in: Higher Education, Rural Development, International Business Operation, Disaster Management, Journalism & Mass Communication.
   • Bachelor Degree in: Arts and Commerce.
   • Master Degree in: Commerce, Business Administration, Rural Development, MEC, MBF, MTM, MPS, MHD, MSU, MPA, MEG, MAH.
