Gauhati University Campus is one of the greenest campuses in Assam. The University is also popularly called the “Land of Gulmohar” since it has abundant Gulmohar trees inside its campus. Gauhati University campus is a site of local biodiversity since it has numerous wetlands and Botanical gardens. The campus has several facilities that make students' life easy and enjoyable. Here are some facilities available at Gauhati University Campus:
Academic Facilities
- Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF): This facility was established at Gauhati University Campus to facilitate the research activities at the University. At present CIF is housed in the Department of Chemistry, Gauhati University as the permanent CIF building is being constructed. The facility currently has a Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), a High-Resolution Mass Spectrometer (HRMS), and an Atomic Force microscope (AFM).
- Institutional Biotech Hub: The Institutional Biotech Hub at Gauhati University campus was sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology; Govt of India. The Institutional Biotech Hub (IBH-GU) is boosting the infrastructure facility for molecular biology and proving the atmosphere for research and education. Besides the Department of Biotechnology, other Departments like Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology are also availing this facility.
Healthcare and Sports Facilities
- GU Hospital: Gauhati University Hospital is the primary healthcare facility of Gauhati University campus. Besides the services it provides to the university community, the GU Hospital remains a primary source of healthcare facilities to the neighboring regions around the university campus. It carries out OPD services as well as 24-hour Emergency Services and is equipped with ambulances, doctors, nurses, and other supporting staff.
- GU Sports Complex: GU playground, indoor stadium, GU Stadium, Various Courts, and Gymnasium Hall are components of the GU Sports Complex located at the Gauhati University campus. All the sports-related activities are organized here and the complex also provides all the sports goods required by the students.

- Food Court and Canteen: GU Campus has several food joints, some of which are GU Arts Canteen (near BKB Auditorium), GU Food Court (on the way to the Department of Education), Faculty House Canteen (near Department of Business Administration), Eateries at GU Market. - University Market: Gauhati University Campus has a Market that is a very well-developed and mature shopping joint. It has several stores and is sufficient for all the stuff for daily needs.

There is no separate exams for admission into this college, those who do not get admission in GU are preferably asked to try for this college and then are accepted here. I also cleared the entrance in Cotton University and I was in the first waiting list but i already took admission in NEF college hence I did not shift later on.
