Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT), Muzaffarpur is a premier institution of eastern India for technical education. It is under administrative control of department of science and technology and wholly funded by Govt. of Bihar. Established in 1954, MIT is one of the oldest technical institute in India. The foundation stone was laid by the first prime minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

The college is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna. The college offers B.Tech at undergraduate level to the aspiring candidates who want to take up Engineering as their career.

Admission in B.Tech is done on the basis of marks obtained in Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

MIT Muzaffarpur offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) to the candidates who want to pursue their career in the field of Engineering. The courses offered are Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Information Technology. First and foremost thing for the candidates is to pass in 10+2 level or equivalent in relevant discipline. Admission in MIT for four years B.Tech. course is made through Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (B.C.E.C.E.) conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. The candidates desirous of Admission in MIT are advised to appear in Screening & Main Examination of B.C.E.C.E.

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is constituted under Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995 . It conducts competitive examinations every year for admissions in various professional courses of Medical, Engineering and Agricultural streams in the Institutions of the state of Bihar.
