The Jammu and Kashmir BArch admissions are conducted independently by the state, government aided, government unaided and private universities of the state. Interested candidates need to compulsorily appear for Joint Entrance examination (JEE) Main Arch. which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) or the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) which is conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA).
There is no separate examination for the Jammu and Kashmir B.Arch admissions. The institutions accept the NATA score and the merit list is drafted independently by the university authorities. BArch admission can also be done on the basis of the JEE Main Paper 2. Candidates can also opt for the national JoSAA counselling, which is however not limited to institutions of Jammu and Kashmir and includes only NITs and IITs.

Jammu & Kashmir B.Arch Admission 2023: Eligibility
Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria put up by the respective University they are applying to for subsequent counselling. The detailed eligibility criteria for JEE Mains and NATA are listed below.
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- All institutions offering the B. Arch degree at Jammu and Kashmir require the candidate to have at least 50% aggregate in the 10+2 examinations and have English as a compulsory subject to be eligible. The candidate also needs to pass in at least five subjects.
- Candidates need to qualify 10+2 examinations to be deemed eligible for JEE Main/NATA.
- Candidates appearing for their final examinations can also apply for JEE Main/ NATA.
- There is no age limit stated for both the examinations.

Jammu & Kashmir B.Arch Admission Process 2023
The application process for both JEE Main and NATA is online. There is no offline mode of registration.
- To apply for Jammu and Kashmir BArch admission through counselling, candidates need to apply separately though the official website of each university they are interested in. The detailed steps for all registrations are given below.
- The registrations for Jammu and Kashmir admissions open in the month of April- June. Due to COVID situation, the registration and admission of the universities has shifted to September- November.

- Candidates should fill up the profile details such as names, academic qualifications, addresses and other information accurately.

Jammu & Kashmir B.Arch Admissions Exam Pattern?
Both the examinations are conducted in a computer based mode. Students can opt for appearing for the test from home (NATA) or can take the test at the respective exam centre. The exam patterns for both the examinations are given below.
What is NATA Exam Pattern?
- NATA will be conducted in two parts: Part A and Part B.
- Part A constitutes cognitive skills for drawing and visual composition tests, which consists of 10 preferential type questions and MCQs to be answered in 72 minutes.
- Part B constitutes a test on PCM and General Aptitude, which consists of 50 questions to be answered in 45 minutes.
- Each correct response in Part B will be awarded 1.5 marks. There is no negative marking.
- There will be 15 questions from PCM and 35 questions on general aptitude.
- There will be an interval of 3 minutes (roll over period) between Part A and Part B.

What is JEE Main Exam Pattern?
- The JEE Main for B. Arch will be conducted in three parts and is of 400 marks.
- Part I and Part II are computer based while Part III is a pen and paper test.
- Part I constitutes 25 questions on Mathematics. 20 questions are MCQs and 5 questions are numerical-based questions. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Numerical questions have no negative marking.
- Part II constitutes 50 MCQs on General aptitude. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Part III is a pen and paper drawing test comprising 2 questions. Each question will be marked out of 50.

Jammu & Kashmir B.Arch Admission 2023: Result
Candidates for NATA and JEE Main can avail their scorecard from the official websites of NATA and NTA respectively.
- For JEE Main BArch, the merit list will be drafted by conversion of raw score in Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Planning Based Test and Total into NATA Scores.
- Candidates need to update their scores while applying to the respective institutes.
- The merit list for all these institutions will be drafted according to the marks scored in the entrance examinations.
- Colleges except the ones under purview of JoSAA counselling usually consider NATA scores.

Jammu & Kashmir B.Arch Admission 2023: Counselling
The counselling process for the both the examinations begins soon after the publication of the merit list. However, since each university conducts its own admission process, the release of the merit list is followed by admissions.
- Candidates need to constantly check the official website for new updates.
- Counselling through JoSAA for BArch admissions also begins after the declaration of result.
- The commencement of JoSAA counselling was on October 6, 2023.
- Candidates are required to register themselves for counselling on the official JoSAA portal.
- After the allotment of seats, document verification will be conducted at the respective centres. Admission to NIT Srinagar will be necessarily conducted through JoSAA.
