Ques. How are the placements at IIT Hyderabad for M.Tech in chemical engineering?

● Top Answer By Vaani on 09 May 23

Ans. I don’t think placement statistics of one year are enough to judge the credibility and worth of an institute. It’s better to observe placement trends over the past few years to get a better understanding of the placement scenario.  My brother was a student at IIT Hyderabad till 2020 so I can give you information regarding the placement trends of the preceding years.  IIT Hyderabad M.tech Chemical Engineering placement trends 2018.2019 and 2020 2018: Only 4 students got placed from the entire batch. 2019   Out of 15 total students, 1 student got placed in a Data Science Company. 2 students got placed in a Chemical Engineering Design Company (Core). 3 students got placed in a pharmaceutical Company (Core). 4 students opted for Ph.D 2020: 2 core companies registered for the second phase of the placements meanwhile a couple of students got placed in non-core companies. From the above trends, we can say that job opportunities have been improving over the past few years despite the lockdown situation. The number of companies is expected to increase in the coming years with better placement opportunities.Read more

Ques. Which is good for M.Tech in Chemical Engineering IIT Kharagpur or Madras?

● Top Answer By Senjuti Gupta on 27 Mar 23

Ans. IIT Madras is the best choice for MTech in Chemical Engineering. Some reasons that support my claim are Being a metropolitan, Madras ensures better living standards and transport facilities thus attracting more faculty. The R and D centers of most top MNCs are located in Bangalore and Mumbai. Owing to the proximity Madras is preferred over KGP. Most process industries prefer BTech students over MTech students as chemical engineers. Only R and D and Consulting companies look for MTech students for core jobs. Better facilities attract better students thus you will find a better class of peers at IIT Madras in contrast to IIT KGP. The faculty comprises professors belonging to various fields and cultures whereas IIT KGP has more Bengali professors. Thus, considering the demand for PG students and facilities at IIT Madras, it seems to be a better option for MTech than KGP.Read more

Ques. Which will be best for an M. Tech in chemical engineering: ICT Mumbai or IIT Bombay?

● Top Answer By Akriti Gupta on 03 May 23

Ans. When it comes to pursuing an M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, choosing the right institution is crucial. IIT Bombay might be a better option than ICT Mumbai: Reputation: IIT Bombay has a well-established reputation for offering quality education and research opportunities. The IIT tag carries significant weight in the academic and professional world, making it a highly respected institution. On the other hand, while ICT Mumbai is also a reputable institution, it may not carry the same level of recognition as IIT Bombay. Curriculum: IIT Bombay offers a comprehensive curriculum in Chemical Engineering, covering various topics such as thermodynamics, transport phenomena, process design, and optimization, among others. The curriculum is regularly updated to ensure that it aligns with the latest trends in the industry. ICT Mumbai also offers a similar curriculum, but it may not be as extensive as that of IIT Bombay. Faculty: IIT Bombay has highly qualified and experienced faculty who are experts in their respective fields. They bring their industry experience to the classroom, providing students with practical knowledge and insights. While ICT Mumbai also has experienced faculty members, the level of expertise may not be as high as that of IIT Bombay. Placement Opportunities: IIT Bombay has a strong record of placing its graduates in top companies in the chemical engineering industry, both in India and abroad. The institution also offers internships and research opportunities with leading companies to provide students with practical experience. While ICT Mumbai also has a good placement record, it may not be as extensive as that of IIT Bombay. Research Opportunities: IIT Bombay is known for its research-oriented approach, and students have access to advanced research facilities and labs. The institution encourages students to participate in research projects and publish their work in leading academic journals. While ICT Mumbai also offers research opportunities, it may not have the same level of facilities and resources as IIT Bombay. While both IIT Bombay and ICT Mumbai are reputable institutions, IIT Bombay may be a better option for pursuing an M.Tech in Chemical Engineering. Its reputation, comprehensive curriculum, experienced faculty, placement opportunities, and research facilities make it a top choice for students seeking a bright future in this field.Read more

Ques. How is IIT-BHU for doing an M.Tech from chemical?

● Top Answer By Sauvik Nayak on 14 Aug 20

Ans. IIT BHU is a good option to pursue M.Tech in chemical engineering. The professors at IIT BHU in the chemical engineering department are well qualified and experienced. But as far as placements are concerned, M. Tech in chemical engineering from IIT BHU may not sound as many of the core as well as non- core companies are not open for placement to this branch. The major recruiters in the core sector for B.tech students in chemical engineering are Reliance and BPCL but both of them are not open for M.Tech students. Also, many big companies in the non–core sector like those of software, finance, data analysts are also not open for M.Tech students. That is why the average package for M.Tech students in chemical engineering is low. But the M. Tech degree of chemical engineering from IIT BHU can be quite valuable because it helps in off-campus placements and increases the chances of getting promotion in jobs over B.Tech students.Read more
