Hannover Medical School Campus
- All graduate programs of Hannover Medical College take place in Hannover Biomedical Research School (HBRS).
- The campus at Hannover Medical School consists of various institutes, lecture theatres and research facilities over 30,000 square metres.
- The HBRS office is inside the Medical School in the I4 building.
- Students will have free access to the library of the Hannover Medical School. The opening hours for the library are Monday to Friday are from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m and Saturday and Sunday it is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- In the library of the Medical School, there is a media room, where students will have free access to all computers and to the internet.
Hannover Medical School Residence
- International students from more than 40 countries all over the world come for the Ph.D. program at HBRS.
- If a student needs accommodation then one should inform the authority about that before coming to the campus. Authority will provide an apartment in one of the College’s guest houses or student’s hostel.
- HBRS has a very little number of rooms available at the hostels. Therefore, students can stay in rented private rooms alone or with sharing. Online room search can be made.
Hannover Medical School Programs
Hannover Medical College offers only research programs. It has the following two programs for students:
- HBRS Ph.D. programs in Molecular Medicine, Infection Biology/DEWIN and Regenerative Sciences
- Lower Saxony International Summer Academy in Immunology also known as LISA.
- Usually, students are awarded with a Ph.D. degree after 3-4 years.
Hannover Medical School Application Process
The School invites application in two sessions which are summer and winter. The process of enrollment is simple which is to apply to one of the Ph.D. programs, get selected, and then get a project after selection.
The admission process at Hannover Medical School (for the Ph.D. program)is given below :

Admission requirements: The general requirements for HBRS Ph.D. programs are: 9
- A Master (or Bachelor of Honors with at least 6 months of molecular research experience), diploma in life sciences, or medical degree (Staatsexamen, MBBS).
- 6 months of independent research experience.
- The application form.
- An informal application demonstrating the statement of purpose for the Ph.D. course.
- Certificates and qualifications indicating the level of knowledge of the English language.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- A short description of a former research project.
After getting selected, students have to apply for their visa to study in Germany. No student is allowed with a tourist VISA.
Application deadline: The School is inviting applications for October 2023 intake from December 1st, 2022 onwards. The deadline will be April 1st, 2023.

The semester fee for the winter term 2023/2024 is 389.16 Euros and the amount is made up as follows:

Hannover Medical School Financial Aid
- In case any student receives a publically-funded scholarship, there is no need to remit the administrative fee.
- Students should submit an official Proof of Scholarship for the exemption.
- Every student receives either a stipend or salary of about 1,500/- Euro per month.
- International students can consider other sources to fund their education in Germany too.
- School also supports families/students receiving a stipend with a program called Kindergeld, which is currently amounting to 400 Euro per month for the first child + 100 Euro per month for all the further children.
