The Bachelor's degree program in Musicology provides general knowledge in historical and systematic musicology as well as in music ethnology. This means acquiring knowledge, among other things, on the history, aesthetics, sociology and psychology of music, European folk music and the music of non-European cultures. Added to this is the examination of the methods of the subject as the basis for independent scientific work.

A prerequisite for admission to study at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is a recognized University entrance qualification.
