Friedrich Schiller University Jena does not demand a typical tuition fee. Students have to pay 277 USD per semester as Semester contribution.
The core content of this research-oriented four-semester study program focuses on the specialization in climate and environmental reconstruction, and in ecosystem research. In addition to extensive theoretical knowledge on climate proxy data and material dynamics in ecosystems, the students, being integrated into current research projects, acquire the skills required for a widely independent planning and implementation of field and laboratory work. Thanks to the state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and innovative range of analytical methods at the Institute of Geography, the graduates are able to apply various laboratory equipment and different analytical methods.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- For this master's program, Students need a subject-specific bachelor degree (minimum 6 semesters/180 ECTS-Credits) or a recognized equivalent.

- Some courses might require German language proficiency. Applicants for German taught programs must pass German Language Test for Admissions to Higher Education (DSH) at DSH-2 level.
