The bachelor's degree in sociology at the University of Kassel provides theoretical and methodical tools to reflect and research the social. In contrast to other subjects, training is not carried out for a (single) specific profession, but the courses convey a profile of skills that qualify the students for work in different social areas.
While studying at many universities is heavily schooled, the University of Kassel offers freedom for self-study, options for the own emphasis and concentration on a few exam papers. The six-semester bachelor's program is divided into three study phases and includes a minor, an internship

For this course, students need one of the following degrees or certificates:

General University Entrance Qualification
Professional qualification (studying without a high school diploma)
TestDaf: Level 4 in all sub-exams
Goethe certificate: level C2 in all module parts
Telc German: C1 university
German language diploma of the Conference of Ministers of Education: DSD II with continuous level C1 in all areas
German language test for university admission (DSH) at a registered university: The DSH is divided into three stages. The DSH-2 is required to start studying. There is an exception for the artistic courses (visual arts, visual communication, and product design). Only DSH-1 is required for this: Proof of language proficiency for admission to study at the art college.
