Sonika Saxena is a Vice Principal at the Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology, Jaipur. She did Msc Zoology and received her doctoral degree in Zoology with special reference to Environmental Science from University of Rajasthan in 2002. Her experience are in Higher education, academic leadership, research and development and resourceful knowledge communication.Her research interests include Bioremediation of industrial Effluent, solid waste management, Pesticide degradation. She worked as a Tutor (2000-2002) in Kanoria Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jaipur, Associate Professor and HOD Zoology (2003-2006) in Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole University, and Dean (2006-2007) at Ambassy College for Girls, Jaipur. Sonika is involved with the planning and execution of a number of research and teaching programs in biotechnology. For the last 19 years she has been actively engaged in teaching, training and research. Several National Conferences, workshops, seminars, faculty development programmes, Entrepreneurship Awareness programmes, Webinars, Students counseling Programmes are organized by her in collaboration with various Government funding agencies as DST, DBT, ISCA, MSME, RMOL, RSLDC etc. She has published various book Chapters and Research papers in journals of National and International repute. She is a regular reviewer of research articles for many high impact Journals. She is a Life Member of a National Environment Science Academy. Her research group has been honored several times with the Best Oral Presentation Award and Best Poster Presentation Award in various international or national conferences and seminars. Dr. Sonika Saxena was honored with the Eminent Scientist of the Year Award by the National Environment Science Academy and University of Delhi in 2018. Also, he has been awarded the Kayastha Shiksha Ratan Award in 2021 by Akhil Bhartiya Kayastha Mahasabha, Jaipur.

Our institute is offering different technical courses in Biotechnology and Microbiology. All these courses are highly beneficial for job, research, and start-up oriented. It assists candidates to aim for a variety of positions in government as well as the private sector. The training and research projects carried out during the tenure of 3 years in a B.Sc. Biotechnology. Moreover, a 2 year course of M.Sc. Biotechnology and Microbiology will equip the candidate with industrial knowledge.
