What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“To provide for the leading professionals of tomorrow”

Academic and administrative aspects are significant components in the education sector. I feel that providing quality education and a conducive environment to students in which they can learn effectively is the most important of all factors. At the same time, employee satisfaction and involvement in upgrading an institute's status in terms of accreditation by designated assessment bodies play a key role.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“I believe in an inclusive and delegative approach”

According to me, every leader irrespective of the domain that he or she represents should have a clear vision about the goals to be achieved. A leader should not bear the responsibility alone. Decentralizing the power and thereby enabling all to share responsibilities will bring in the desired results. According to me, if transparency is maintained strictly in all administrative issues, reaching the goal is not a difficulty.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your Institute?

“A proper framework with scrupulous planning”

Every institute should be properly structured. Digital content with the help of automation and the latest technologies are used in promotional activities. Updating and exhibiting all activities and achievements through the college website and using social media and online methods are the best choices that we use for marketing our Institute’s credentials and testimonials.

In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute/ university/ school?

“The system calls for constant skill development to stay relevant”

Students in India have to study according to the norms provided by the state and Central Government of India. However, competition in the education sector is very high due to the population explosion in India, unlike other countries. This would help our students gain more knowledge, skills, and talent to exhibit in relevant academic exams and in competitive entrance examinations. I feel that in India too, we need to encourage students to mandatory internships, relevant part-time jobs to gain hands-on experience.

How does the curriculum of the Balaji Institute of Technology & Science ensure the best practice of industry?

“Mentoring the students for the best placement opportunities”

I have to state here that as an affiliated college, we need to confine to the curriculum offered by JNTU Hyderabad. The curriculum is effectively designed by JNTUH. We are implementing effective teaching-learning methodologies and also adopting relevant and latest issues by having MOUs with industries. Thus we are achieving our Placement Goals.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“An inclusive and fair system that makes education accessible to all”

In Telangana state, the Government is providing scholarships and reimbursement of fees to economically weak students as per prescribed eligibility. This enables the students to effectively enrich their knowledge and skills and attain their targets in education.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Promoting research and the use of the latest technology in classrooms”

The top Priority of University during the ensuing decade should be to emphasize the use of ICT tools in Teaching & Learning. The priority also lies in implementing the National Education Policy to develop practical knowledge among students. More research-oriented projects should be undertaken by faculty and students.

When you first came to Balaji Institute of Technology & Science, what was your vision for the university? Has it evolved over time, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?

“Giving the students the freedom to choose subjects that will enhance their skills”

My vision for University was that universities should offer elective technical subjects to students to get more relevant practical knowledge and also subjects which provide morals to students. Over the years, with my experience, I now feel that students should undertake research-oriented and innovative projects right from the second year. I observe that a lot of changes have come in the JNTUH curriculum over the years.

What would you like people to know about your Institute they may not know?

“Encouraging students to actively participate outside classrooms too”

I want to let all students and other stakeholders know about the training programs for CRT that are offered to our students. All should realize our efforts and developments of our institute relevant to recognition & accreditation by ISO, NAAC, and NBA. I also want others to be aware of the fact that we involve students in social activities through NSS and encourage them to undertake innovative projects at the institute.

What do you see as Balaji Institute of Technology & Science's greatest strengths?

“A diverse environment within the institution”

We feel our major potentiality is that we provide technical education to students of rural background and those having a regional medium background. As a result of consistent training programs, students are able to achieve campus placements. Magnificent infrastructure, State of art labs, Transportation, Hostel facilities, and adopting hi-tech methods in the teaching-learning process are our strengths.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for the Balaji Institute of Technology & Science specifically?

“Creating jobs and bridging the industrial gap”

The challenges and difficulties with regard to higher education are lack of Internships for students as required and the delinking of jobs. At the college level, the challenges are to polish students having below-average knowledge and to convince parents to enable their wards to follow college rules and academic programs.

“Promoting maximum engagement with guest lecturers and participative activities”
