How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

“Bridging the gap of experiential learning and theory by associating to organizations”

Our department organizes workshops, seminars, and other important activities from time to time so that our students become aware of important concepts. We generally provide some project-oriented practicals or work to the students; it boosts their confidence towards practical knowledge. Our students visit several industries so that they can aware of the working procedure and techniques of the industry. We provide some relevant journals to our students so that they can be in touch with the latest research works. 

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students which help them gain the necessary skills?

“The motivation and confidence within self with an overall personality development”

  • Our department is making significant efforts to improve the quality of education by incorporating innovative programs. 
  • We provide some latest theoretical and practical findings, discoveries of new technologies/tools. 
  • We always motivate the students to work on important themes/projects relevant to the possible development or extension in their desirable topic. 
  • We also make sure that our students must aware of the application of their subjects in the real field. It encourages the students to be familiar with the active management of social needs with better-skilled knowledge and allows the promotion of developed, smart, safe, and sustainable technology in a cost-effective manner. 

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated to make it befitting for the students?

The course curriculum of the program is designed by the affiliating organization namely MAKAUT. The department itself includes several methodologies in the process of executing the syllabus most efficiently. We take the opinion of every faculty member and associated advisor of the department keeping the present industrial scenario. The department often introduces practical interference, special expertise lecture; the latest technical software related to some definite modules, and also takes feedback from all stakeholders about its success.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?

  • Our faculty members take the initiative of encouraging the students to participate in the events.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

The elevation of thinking level is the key to achieve competitive intelligence. New ideas are explored, innovations are showed up, and new opportunities are defined in a way to keep them updated. We appropriately guide the students to attend several professional development programs organized by IITs, NITs, and distinguished industries, apart from the regular course. Every year a lot of students complete NPTEL courses, participate in industry induction programs, yield experience on present professional software/(s), attend workshops, webinars, etc. Students who have stronger critical thinking skills and mindset are better able to learn complex material, to solve problems, attain professional skills, and transition to the workplace.

What are the challenges you faced/ are facing to uplift the quality of education in your department?

“Challenges to acquire what is necessarily required to grow the students and the Country”

  • The backdated industrial-age mindset where people received an education early in life to be ready for a lifetime of work no longer reflects on the spirit of the advanced technology and creates an unexpected failure of modern careers. 
  • A learner who would earlier be considered as ‘non-traditional’ is becoming the new standard. As a consequence, a new level of expectations has been evolved for seamless higher education and life-long learning experiences that fit different styles, individual circumstances, and preferences. 
  •  New younger group’s incoming higher education has an entirely different idea of parting than previous generations. 

How the curriculum of your college does ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Association with different firms for making students industry-ready”

The institute has collaborated with several industries to ensure the industrial relevant application-based training for the students. These arrangements help us to bridge the gap between theoretical classroom knowledge and practical field applications. Besides, several training based programs are conducted throughout the year to enhance employability. The teachers put their best effort to learn and guide the students to make them cope up with advanced technologies. Industry visits, interaction with industry experts, technical exhibitions, etc. are arranged throughout the year to make the students aware of applications of theoretical knowledge.

How does the college enhances the skills of the faculty and prepares them according to the industry standards?

College offers us facilities likes FDP conference, seminars by which we can generally aware of the latest procedure teaching, technologies the latest discoveries, etc. FDPs are very essentials parts of the development of faculties to enhance their abilities of teaching. Apart from this, an institute like NITTTRs provides vital courses for technical teachers. We make sure that our faculty members should join these courses. NPTEL is also a very big platform where the faculty members can learn a lot about the present scenario of the industry as well as other aspects of life.

What do you want people to know about the college they may not know?

  • We monitor every student in our department. 
  • Our department provides time to time quality improvement sessions for the students. These sessions provide a good mental diet for the students. 
  • Each faculty member plays their roles effectively and efficiently.
  • We also organize an Annual meet of Alumni. We have an Alumni Association. Many of our Alumni are well settled and established. 
  • The knowledge transfer session is well enough to clear any doubt of the students and promote the credibility of the department over employers’ mind

What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

“Efforts should never die to let yourself always win”

Strength to learn and understand is the biggest blessing you could make on yourself. Choose your domain of learning and working wisely because you are going to carry that for the rest of your life. I always prefer to think big and avoid the rat race.
