At the same time, employee satisfaction and involvement in upgrading an institute's status in terms of accreditation by designated assessment bodies play a key role. As an educator, I don’t just teach students, I also have to keep upskilling and learn the current trends.

Being the Vice-Principal of CHALAPATHI INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

"A strong leadership philosophy is key to successfully running a team, organization, or business"

When your leadership style is rooted in a strong set of values and principles, you’ll remain committed to your goals, and you’ll be more likely to motivate and inspire your employees on a regular basis. According to me, if transparency is maintained strictly in all administrative issues, reaching the goal is not a difficulty. 

Being the Vice-Principal of CHALAPATHI INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

"The strategy which we follow is a different approach"

We give some ads in newspapers, we run video ads in local channels and also we run youtube, facebook and instagram ads. Updating and exhibiting all activities and achievements through the college website are the best choices that we use for marketing our Institute.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your university?

"I feel that in India too, we need to encourage students to mandatory internships, relevant part-time jobs to gain hands-on experience"

Ans. Students in India have to study according to the norms provided by the state and Central Government of India. However, competition in the education sector is very high due to the population explosion in India, unlike other countries. In CIET, we have state of the art laboratories to ensure all round development of the inbound students and extend job-oriented practical education for their complete development. Students are given extra attention besides academics, and we drive them to become successful. 

How does the curriculum of CHALAPATHI INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY ensure the best practice of industry?

As an autonomous college, there is a flexibility to design the curriculum based on the industry needs and BOS helps us to frame the curriculum based on the needs. The curriculum is effectively designed. We are implementing effective teaching-learning methodologies and also adopting relevant and latest issues by having MOUs with industries. Thus we are achieving our Placement Goals. 

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

The Government is providing scholarships and full fees reimbursement to economically weak students as per prescribed eligibility. This enables the students to effectively enrich their knowledge and skills and attain their targets in education. The college management also provides scholarships to meritorious students based on their performance.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

"I believe that along with the theoretical knowledge in books and classrooms, one also needs to be aware of the practical knowledge"

Ans. I ensure that students here get a lot of opportunities and also they stay up-to-date in this changing environment. We have to give training on the latest technologies that are present and we succeeded in that. 

What do you think should be the Institute top priority over the next 10 years?

The top Priority of college is to emphasize the use of ICT tools in Teaching & Learning. The priority also lies in implementing the NEP. More research-oriented projects should be undertaken by faculty and students. We will definitely continue meeting the localization strategy for our students as well as furnishing the choices that a child really requires for the overall personality development. 

When you first came to CHALAPATHI INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY, what was your vision for the university? Has it evolved over time, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?

"My vision for college was that college should offer elective technical subjects to students"

Over the years, I now feel that students should undertake research-oriented and innovative projects right from the second year and we succeeded in that. Lot of changes are made to the curriculum according to the current needs.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

"I want to let all parents, students and other stakeholders know that we are offering the CRT programs from 2nd year onwards and we are preparing them for industry ready"

The college is accredited by UGC 2(f), AUTONOMOUS, ISO, NAAC and NBA. For every branch student associations are there and they are working for the overall development of the students.

What do you see as CHALAPATHI INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY greatest strengths?

Our major potential is that 80% of the students studying here come from rural backgrounds and those are having a regional medium background. As a result of consistent training programs, students are able to achieve campus placements. Good infrastructure, State of art labs, Transportation, Hostel facilities, and adopting hi-tech methods in the teaching-learning process are our strengths. 

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for CHALAPATHI INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY specifically?

As the students come from rural backgrounds, we have to work hard to make them industry ready. Another problem we are facing is we don’t have any industries around us to make visits and show the practical working models to students. 

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

"I would suggest that people should put themselves into the field they are more interested in and have a zeal to achieve"

Students have to give importance to Bookish knowledge as well as practical knowledge. They have to put more emphasis on coding skills. 

What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for CHALAPATHI INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY international affairs and/or students?

As of now we are currently revising our existing plans.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute/ university?

We are intending all students to participate in all academic, administrative and extracurricular activities held at our college as well as other colleges. We invite experts from the university for guest lectures/seminars/webinars/FDP/Hackthons/Workshops etc.. These activities and programs increase interaction between students and the faculty and enable them to work together.
