Being the HOD, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students in Alankar PG Girls College?

“To ensure good professional practice, standards, and quality of teaching to pupils”

Being the Head of the Department of Hindi I want to provide strong academic leadership. It leads us to manage and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities. Our campus ensures the good professional practice, standards, quality of teaching, learning of subject/s through proper dialogue with the teachers under the direction of the other stakeholders.

How do you tend to establish health relations with students and fellow faculty?

“Active engagement, constructive feedback and effective communication for students maintain healthy relations on campus”

Effective communication, active engagement, constructive feedback and robust support maintain healthy relationships on campus. I avoid sharing negative thoughts, actions, criticisms, and sarcastic snipes. Be less judgmental and accepting of others. A positive attitude is contagious and inspiring to work alongside. Make it your new daily habit to bring a positive attitude to work

How do you try to bring in a practical approach to subjects and make them industry-oriented?

“Organize mock interviews, aptitude development classes and relevant training for pupils”

I use the formula of learning beyond the classroom to promote practical learning rather than focusing alone on theoretical knowledge. Practical work promotes experiential learning. Since most of our students are from rural backgrounds, they lack communication. I focus on this right from their commencement in college. Every week we have 2 or 3 classes apart from the curriculum only for the purpose of improving communication and boosting the confidence of these students. We have separate staff to handle this task and hire people from outside to improve communication skills. Our faculties make them face the interview and outside world by making communication a priority. Also, we focus on pre-placement training from the third year, organize mock interviews, aptitude development classes and relevant training needed for placements to compete with other institutes.

How do you strategize the curriculum and get updated to make it befitting for the students in Alankar PG Girls College?

“Revise curriculum, update other processes and receive feedback from stakeholders in the campus”

Curriculum is designed and updated by the University of Rajasthan for various U.G and P.G programmes. Whenever there is need, a regular revision and updating process takes place based on the feedback from all stakeholders.
