Mr.Farhath Hussain is the Assistant Director of the All India Institute of Management Studies. He is a passionate educationist who encourages working professionals to pursue their desired degree, maintaining a balance between academics and corporate life.
What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
“To break the notion of limiting education to a certain age”
We started this Institute to mainly cater to the needs of those who join the industry or profession not having acquired higher qualifications due to many reasons. In our Indian Education System, once somebody has to miss the bus, he can never aspire for higher qualification though industrious, desirous, and enthusiastic. We are satisfied that we have covered this arena and helped the aspirants with the education they want to opt for.
What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
“Being a paternalistic leader for the ones who look up to me”
We have motivated our staff and faculty to offer a helping hand whenever needed and to work for the satisfaction of the student community. Also, the faculties were requested to prepare the material in a simple and lucid way bearing in mind that not everyone in the student community enrolled is of high caliber and qualified with a basic degree/ diploma.

In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here at the All India Institute of Management Studies?
“Drawing inspiration from the developed countries with the best education system”
We will venture to say what we practiced in the education system has come to stay or is going to stay through the NEP of our government. In advanced countries, one can approach higher studies irrespective of their age or background. Here, we have also tried to help even the working professionals in studying what they desire.
How does the curriculum of All India Institute of Management Studies ensure the best practice of industry?
“Students guided by and exposed to industry professionals for the best understanding”
It has to be borne in mind that in our country, the students cannot be employed straightaway in Industry. The industry functions with a particular aim. For example, an electrical engineer taking the qualification from any institute will be having knowledge which is basic in different subjects of a particular discipline. This is the practice throughout the world. The recruits are well trained by the Industrialists in their training programs.
What are the benefits that the students studying in AIIMS will get regarding their placements and internships?
“Being among the most efficient and successful ones in their workplace”
We have been successful, though to a limited extent, in the placements. But we have been getting feedback, students who have studied courses like HR, QA, etc, have been doing well in the corporate world. Our institute has aimed at helping the students in having a career of their choice since day one.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
“Welcoming and embracing the changes”
Our advice will be that the environment is changing fast. Students must adapt to changes. The changes that have taken place are asymptotic in the past about 2 decades. The upcoming age will notice a paradigm shift given the post-pandemic scenario. It is important to upskill yourselves in order to compete and survive in the industry.
