Have you introduced any new program in your syllabus this year?

“Trending courses such as those in hospital management, financial valuation, and analytics”

  • Certificate course in business analytics. We have tied up with Nimble Tech for this. The curriculum is designed by Dr. Biswajeet Raj, Head of the business analytics department and CRM of Raymond’s group. The whole idea of adding this course to the curriculum is to make our students more business-oriented and for better outcomes.
  • Financial Modelling and Valuation course. Our focus is very much on how students can use it for accounting purposes and entire company analysis.
  • Health Care and Hospital Management course. This is the course that I think no business school in the state provides.

All the three courses which we have introduced, are most desired and important courses in current time.

What are the extracurricular activities BCCM has planned for students?

“We do not only focus on IQ but also on EQ of the students, by organizing social events”

  • Bhavan’s Emerging Leader Contest - A students organized event. To reveal leadership potential through various activities.
  • School meets, blood donation camps, many religious events, Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan.
  • During children’s day, our students organize a one-week-long event named as Anjali Festival for differently-abled kids.

Can you please elaborate on the placement statistics of your college?

“A healthy blend of equal placements in sectors such as finance, logistics, banking, etc”

I can very proudly say that yes we are small in size but we are very strong. Our placement cell works tirelessly to make it even more strong. If I talk about statistics of it then 30% of our students of every batch get placed into retail and lifestyle. And 30% go to banking, insurance, and other financial services and microfinance organization. And remaining 40% go to other sectors like FMCG, FMCD, logistics, Consultancy, etc. Our main recruiters are Pantaloons, DCB bank, Om Logistics, etc.

What has been the highest package and average package offered to your students?

“Placement records show a very positive trend, with the highest package till date of 10 lakhs pa”

Considering the current examples. In last year itself, our highest package was of 10lakh. And many students got an offer of 7.5 or 8 lakhs. But the average package comes somewhere around 3.6 to 4 lakh. So our students are doing well. We are constantly working to make it even better.

What is the philosophy of your leadership?

“To make sure that all stakeholders are in sync and contribute equally in important decisions”

I believe in teamwork. I trust my team always, I give them the autonomy to work basis their style, convenience. Because I genuinely feel if you give the ownership of something to the concerned person, then that person will automatically give his best outcome. Because ultimately people’s growth depends on organization’s growth and vice versa is equally true.

What are the challenges you and your team are expecting after the introduction of NEP?

“The modified education system and the market industry must remain in sync to prevent hardships”

The students, especially those who are in their final year are in a panic because of an unexpected recession, caused due to the pandemic. They might not get placed, even if they get they probably will get a lower package than their expectation.

Coming to NEP, I feel it’s a historical and much-needed step that the Indian Government has taken. This policy emphasizes on holistic growth of kids. But the challenge is that when these students will hit the higher education level, our higher education curriculum, set up, and the market trend, all should be in sync with this policy. And I doubt that we will be able to change all these things.

How do you guide your students to survive in today’s competitive environment?

“Motivate students to accept the change, adapt to new concepts, and work on themselves”

  • The first and probably most important thing is to understand the importance of health, physical health as well as mental health. This is an age-old saying that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body.
  • Every individual has enormous potential, the only requirement is to understand and identify your strength. If you have done this then you are sorted.
  • Work on your strengths and weaknesses as well improve them and then definitely success will follow you.
  • Be resilient because change is only certain, everything else would change, one might meet any accident, any roadblock all of a sudden so prepare yourself for every situation.
