IRMA hosting Joy Day, in memory of alumni, Shri Sanjoy Ghose

Date: December 7, 2021
Institute of Rural Management Anand is hosting the JOY DAY, in memory of Shri Sanjoy Ghose, an alumnus of the first batch (1980-82).
Late Mr Ghose, an alumnus of the first batch (1980-82) of IRMA's flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) - the PGDM(RM) - changed the face of rural development in India. His feats and achievements have made a great presence in society and his fearlessness continues to inform and inspire IRMAns, generation-by-generation. His concerns covered livelihoods, education, health, and education for communities living in the harsh region.
To extend his vision of grassroots development. He established Charkha on 24 October 1994. Charkha has since upheld this vision articulated in its mandate "To contribute towards building a harmonious, inclusive society empowered by knowledge". It became a precursor for what is now popularly termed as “Development communication”, now taught as a curriculum in several media institutions. Sanjoy’s vision has survived simply because it touches upon a home truth. The voices of those at the bottom propelled the policymakers to take strong actions.
Heroes impact the world in such a way that their work and idealism last forever and improve society as a whole.
