Dr Shamta Chugh is a Professor and HOD of Applied Sciences and Humanities at the World College of Technology and Management. She graduated from Govt. College for Women completed M.Sc and M.Phil in Mathematics from MDU, Rohtak. She has also completed PhD Maths from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar. She has more than 20 years of teaching experience in her career. Her research work is based on applications of Engineering, Geophysics, Solid Mechanics and Rock Mechanics. She has published my research papers in many reputed international papers and attended many workshops, seminars and short-term courses. She has presented many research papers at the National & International level and also Chaired the sessions at International Level.

What is your leadership philosophy?

“To encourage a team and consider the opinion of all colleagues”

A whole team gathers together with the help of a leader. I like to encourage my team and consider their ideas for teamwork. My policy is to inspire the team and motivate them. A leader can the power to correct a team member and fulfill a task. The leader can assign the task and check the ability of each individual separately.

“Presented several research works and a passion for teaching on campus”

Everyone faced various challenges in life to achieve their dream job. I am interested in becoming a teacher. For that dream, I have completed several degrees including PhD in Math. My research papers are published in several journals in National and International ways. I am very passionate about my job and determination drives me to this position. 

What are the key factors that connect you with the education sector?

Updates with the latest trends and deeper thinking ability drive to uplift students. One of the key factors that connect me with the education sector is teaching dedication, learning and educating students. They become a vital part of my life and I guide them to improve their basic knowledge. I enjoyed taking classes and students supported my ideas. My duty is to make sure the pupils achieve great knowledge from our campus. 

How does the curriculum of campus ensure best industrial practice?

“Provide industrial visits, workshops, seminars and training for students”

We provide a real approach for the corporate sector for students through industrial visits. On the other side, our students get workshops, webinars and seminars based on the latest trends. It led them to identify programming languages like Python, Java and more. Our campus gives location surveys for Civil Engineering students and corporate sessions organized for Business application students.

What is the top priority of the World College of Technology and Management for the next 10 years?

One of our priorities is to achieve 100% placements on campus with good packages and empower them with the latest technology. Our teachers take classes in a practical way rather than in theory. We provide excellent laboratories and decide to impart the best education for pupils. Dedicated faculty members assist to fulfill students' passion. 

What is your vision for the campus?

I was very happy to see the beautiful gardens of campus when I first came into campus. My vision is to teach the students in the best way and uplift them. Another one is to encourage students and help them to achieve their goals. I believe in hard work and performing well. It is essential to continue learning and exploring throughout the career.

We are affiliated to MDU and approved by AICTE. The campus consists of facilities such as transportation, hostel and wifi. We follow extracurricular activities and theoretical methods during the teaching process. Moreover, we arrange sports and cultural fests every year. Our campus received many awards in IT innovation & Excellence awards, the Management Education Leadership award for being a leader in Haryana and signed MOU for the students progress.

What changes that Covid-19 brought to the education sector?

All individuals face various challenges in the covid period. A lot of changes took place in the education sector at that time. Wider use of technology learned by us at that period and we arrange expert talks on an international level. Blended learning takes place at that time and we change into online classes on campus. 

What are the placement opportunities for students?

“Provide placements from companies such as Infosys, Bhadani group, HCL, TCS, Del Net, Car Dekho, RBS, Bank of America, TCS, Amazon and more”

Our campus gets placements from companies such as JustDial, Wipro, Capgemini, Byju’s, HCL Technologies, TCS, Amazon, RBS, Bank of America and more. The packages offered by these companies are 10 lakh, 15 lakh, and 21 lakh. We achieved a placement record of 100% last year.

What are the most important functions that you play on campus?

I want to maintain a healthy environment on campus. It is necessary to empower students and work hard to uplift them. The practical sessions improve the wider knowledge among all members. 

How do you establish a healthy relationship with students?

“Success of students makes us happy and love to mentor them”

We create an approachable environment and love to mentor students. They discuss all their issues with us and we give solutions to them. Our greatest strength is students and they bring success to students.

“Never give up and achieve your dream in a fast manner”

My suggestion for youth is to work hard and achieve your dream. Never give up and follow your dream in a fast way. Face the challenges and you can learn new things by competing with the world.
