Prof. Mahesh Chandra Mishra is a Training and Placement Officer at M. D. Yergude Memorial Shikshan Prasarak Mandal's Shri Sai College of Engineering & Technology, Chandrapur. He did B.E in Mechanical Engineering from Nagpur University. He worked as an Engineer in several private companies like Ballarpur Industries Limited, ZF Steering Gear, Dozco Pvt. Ltd, Hitech Systems and Services Limited. He has a total of 27 years of career experience.
What are your roles and responsibilities?
“To develop employability, training programs and guest lectures from industry to pupils”
The primary role is to develop a healthy relationship among the people of the industry for the betterment of the institute. Other responsibilities are enhancing the employability of students, enrichment of activities, arranging guest lectures from industry, and training programs for students. It is essential to provide a solution to industry for problems related to machine design and systems. Moreover, the development of projects and platforms for R and D activities is necessary.
What are the insights on the placement record of SSCET for past years?
“Facilitates various workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, and industrial training to enhance the personality of students”
The placement record of SSCET is appreciable. Campus facilitates the students with various workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, and industrial training to enhance their personality and employability for industry requirements. Bajaj Steel Industries Limited, Adani Group, and TeamLease Services Ltd. conduct Pool Campus Drive at SSCET Campus. Other companies are NMRCL, Bajaj Steel, CSTPS, Wardha Power Ltd, GMR-EMCO energy Ltd., WCL, Chandrapur Ferro ALLOY Plant, and Videocon Solar Power Plant. They provide vocational training and internship for SSCET students. Moreover, Accenture and many more national and multinational companies provide employment opportunities for students.
What challenges did you face to uplift the quality of placement on campus?
“Campus provides efforts to uplift students for placements”
We do our best to involve the students of SSCET in the industry. Our efforts to uplift the quality of placement are crucial. The college is located in a rural area. That’s why many companies were not showing up for the placements. The virtual mode companies are also available due to post covid. It helps to recruit students virtually.
How do you train students for placement?
“Focus on communication, employment skills and personality development of candidates”
The College focuses on the personality development, effective communication, and employability skills of the students. Moreover, several events, programs, workshops, seminars are scheduled to guide and channelize their activities. We conduct programs for students to gain knowledge about an interview.
How has Covid-19 affected the placements of students in SSCET?
“Affect the placements and training activities for students”
The Covid - 19 affected placements and training activities of students. It affects due to social distancing. However, it is difficult at the start of covid. The placement of students of the 2020 batch got affected by this. Later, the scenario improved. We expect it to be better from here onwards.

What do you think about placement in SSCET for upcoming years?
“Provide internship opportunities to students by connecting with industry”
We are involving all faculty members in training and placement activities. Every faculty member can share their experience and contacts in the industry. It helps students to grab internship opportunities and get to learn a lot of practical things. Although, it develops them during their placements.
What is your vision for the campus?
“Provide high academic excellence, research, and entrepreneurship for all students”
I have been involved in all activities such as cultural, social, and many more. Our vision is in line with the goal of our organization. It is necessary to maintain an environment of high academic excellence, research, and entrepreneurship for all those aspiring students. We prepare them to face global challenges, high ethical and moral standards.”
How did the institute prepare students for the industry?
“Implement debate competitions, an annual festival, seminars from industry experts to students”
We are honorable to the chairman, secretary, vice president, and Principal for motivating students at various programs such as cultural sports in Annual Festival, Debate competition, and Industry meet. We provide our students with regular seminars and workshops from industry experts. We at SSCET want to ensure that students get theoretical knowledge. It aids them in a practical experience on the campus.

The College Management enhances best practices among students and faculties. We always work as a team and focus on the needs of students. Our effort helped to keep up with the expectations and growth of students. Hence, we maintain the growth of the institute.
How do you guide students in the recruitment process?
“Motivate students to achieve their goals”
We motivate pupils for UPSC, UPSC, and Public sector competitive Exams. Most of our alumni are working as RTOs in Government administration and railway. Some of them are entrepreneurs. We motivate students for the opportunities that help them to achieve their goals in life. Most of the students learn this and focus on the opportunities. We try to get more companies and increase the placement at the institute.

It is necessary to enjoy your work. However, it helps us to feel free instead of busy. We learn something new from it.
