When you first held the position of HOD in management, what was your vision for the Institute? How far have you achieved the same?

In my tenure as HOD, I am proud to say the university achieved the target placements of 100%. Even though the pandemic disturbed the curriculum delivery, the students were kept engaged through online classes. We provided an unstoppable learning environment for the development of the students.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach toward subjects?

To help students understand the concepts and applications, real and reel life examples are used. Simulation exercises and discussions keep the students up-to-date with the latest developments. Activities-based modules delivered in small class sizes facilitate the transfer of soft skills.

How do you help your student to cope with the current competitive scenario?

Students learn that consistent efforts are a combination of persistence, focus, and commitment. To survive in this ever-changing industry, you must be mentally and emotionally compatible. Students can use SWOT analysis to better understand themselves in relation to the constantly changing needs of industry and society.

What can an inbound student gain from studying at PTMLSD?

In PTMLSD, we place a lot of emphasis on outcome-based learning. Our industry network provides hands-on training experience for inbound students. Most importantly, PTMLSD is a very welcoming multicultural, multidisciplinary, and multi-ethnic institution that focuses on the overall development of the students for a better future. We have programs having a global appeal and industry connection that should be beneficial to any overseas student.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with fellow faculty?

I always encourage my fellow faculty members to present their ideas without any inhibitions. I engage in constructive discussions to know each other’s viewpoints which are welcomed with mutual respect and warmth. Also, I motivate them to be ethically strong and morally grounded, so that students follow this same path. Drawing examples from personal and professional life strengthens the bond and connection with fellow faculty.

What valuable advice would you like to give to the students?

Be assertive, confident, and have an immense faith in yourself and your endeavors. Never stop learning because knowledge is the only tool that will help you steer your way. Face the challenges that come in your way with a smile and remember there is always a blessing in disguise. Trust your skills and focus on solutions rather than problems. Take the key attributes- Hard work, patience and perseverance in your stride and strive for the best. Success is never final, failure is never fatal, it is courage that counts and hope that remains.
