Dr. T. Mohanashree is the Principal in the Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College. She did B.A, M.A, and Doctorate in Philosophy. She is a Planning Board Member for Tamil Nadu Open University, Advisory Board Member of KTCT Alumni Association, and University of Madras Academic Council Member. She has published various papers in national and international journals and has presented a Paper on “Sri Venkatachala Mahatyam” at University of Madras, “Jagat Satyam – Brahma Mithya” in International Webinar and more. She has received Teluginti Ratnam Award, Veerapandiya Kattabomman Seva Ratna Award, Empowered Women Award - 2020, LifeTime Achiever award by University of Madras,etc. 

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Exposure to knowledge, imparting values of compassion,tolerance, understanding, and care”

Exposure to knowledge connects me with the education sector. It covers several fields such as people, literature, history tech and other subjects. We create awareness among the student community on social and civic issues. Implementing values of compassion, tolerance, understanding, care, service and affection connects me with the education sector. 

What is your leadership philosophy?

“Participative management, effective delegation and institution structure is my leadership philosophy”

We believe in decentralization and participative management leadership. Our campus organizes various activities for students' growth. Campus governance is steered by the governing body through various committees. Faculties plan and monitor the functioning of the committee. 

How do you bring a practical approach towards subjects as industry oriented?

“Provide seminars, workshops, experiential learning, internship, and industrial visits for students”

Students get the opportunity to participate in various activities on campus. We give seminars, workshops, experiential learning like internship, Industrial and Bank Visits for pupils. Our campus also offers MHRD certified courses related to their respective programmes, entrepreneurship and communication skills. Faculties encourage students to participate in online courses. 

How do you strategize the curriculum for the students in Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College?

“Add entrepreneurial skill courses and ensure an effective curriculum for pupils”

Our campus is affiliated to the University of Madras. We offer CBCS programs as per the demand of the University. Campus curriculum is supplemented with entrepreneurial skill courses. Our academic core committee ensures effective curriculum implementation through a well planned and documented process.We prepare academic calendar before the commencement of the semester.

How does your college prepare students for placements?

“Provide training, industry visits and guiding through placement cells for candidates”

The placement cell in campus guides students for placements. They get training for getting placed in high-end companies. It assist them to know more about industry

requirements. Thus, we process a sequence of training activities for all. Placement cell organizes on-campus and off-campus drives for students. 

Do you have any extracurricular activities to enhance the skills of the students?

“Organize various cultural programmes, co-curricular, extra-curricular and sports competitions for pupils”

We develop skills, competence and creativity of students through ‘Kalaalaya’ Fine Arts Association of the institution. Our campus conducts several cultural programmes that value artistic talents. Students are encouraged to participate in intra or inter-collegiate co-curricular, extra-curricular and sports competitions.

What challenges do you face to uplift the quality of education of Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College?

“Groom the students to become Entrepreneurs, fees payment, Faculty and student exchange program”

We face difficulty in grooming students to become Entrepreneurs. Another one is payment of fees due to a higher proportion of students for the economically weaker section. Enrichment of higher education institutions, Faculty and student exchange programs are other challenges faced by campus. 

How does the department enhance the skills of the faculty according to the industry standards?

“Conduct conferences, workshops, orientation and refresher courses for faculties”

We enhance the competency of teachers through research papers, attending conferences, workshops, orientation and refresher courses. They are motivated to do minor projects that are funded by management and other private bodies. Hence, we can quickly enhance the skills of faculties as per industry standards.
