What do you see as your college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

"Our vision is our biggest source of strength"

The biggest strength of our institute is our mission and vision which includes delivering the best quality and employment oriented education to all, establishing a good education system, recruitment of excellent trainers to train students as per corporate sector requirements, developing the best learning-working environment in college and accelerating the education system of Jharkhand. And to enhance our strength, we should believe in our capabilities and contribute our fullest so that we can prepare the roadmap easily.

What approaches do you bring in apart from curriculum to teach the students?

"We organize Q&A sessions to address students issues and fix them on time"

The faculty members of our college first analyze the expectations of students and then accordingly use different kinds of techniques and methods by defining the end goals first to educate our students beyond books and curriculum. Apart from this, we regularly organize Q&A and guidance sessions to solve students' doubts which could be academic and non-academic as well so that we can help them to learn a topic in depth.

How does the curriculum of your department ensure the best practices of industry?

"We involve industry people and Technical Experts in its planning and review phase"

Our college usually designs and upgrades the curriculum by keeping in mind how we can offer more job opportunities to students through our courses. And we also consult with our faculty members to check the effectiveness and usefulness of current study material and students provide their input on level of engagement, learning effort, and overall impression of the curriculum. And after this, we involve the Technical Professionals, Experts and Industry Representatives to review and examine the designed curriculum in line with industrial expectations and accordingly we do necessary modifications after getting their suggestions. That's how we ensure to include best industry practices in our curriculum.

When you joined this institute, what was your vision for it and how are you trying to achieve the same?

"My aim was to make our students capable enough to contribute in the economic growth of our nation"

When I joined the Dumka Engineering College, my vision was to educate our students to be life-long learners, technically proficient and ethically strong individuals and enable them to work as effective problem-solvers who can contribute positively to the economic well-being of our region and nation. Also preparing our students as per requirements of the outside challenging world was my another aim. And to achieve my goals, I am following the concept of summative and formative assessment to track progress of our students on both academic and professional level.

What challenges are you facing to uplift the education quality of your department?

"Students inattentive attitude towards their studies is a real challenge for us"

The biggest challenge which today's young generation is facing is the inability to differentiate between learning and acceptance as childrens start their study but do not understand it properly and hence after sometime they forget what they learned a few days back. And I firmly believe that bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and required practical exposure and educating our students in the right way is a real challenge our department is facing currently.

How do you prepare your students to deal with the outside competitive world?

"By conducting self-awareness sessions to educate them on latest technologies and industrial expectations"

For the purpose of preparing our students for this challenging world, we regularly organize self-awareness programs to educate students about the developments and requirements of the outside market and corporate sector and skills they need to learn before joining any reputed organization. We also provide work-integrated learning opportunities to give a hands-on experience to our students as they get sufficient time to work on real world projects. In addition to this, we encourage our students to learn from their mistakes and try new things by coming out of their comfort zones.

What valuable advice would you like to share with the students for a prosperous career ahead?

"Don't stay always in your comfort zone, learn and explore new things"

I would like to advise my dear students to never be their older self, because being yourself is a myth and you need to continuously improve your skills and personality in order to achieve life goals. Also, if you are too comfortable in your job or career, you won't think of setting new goals. So, never stay in your comfort zone and always challenge yourself, do some brainstorming and try to apply your learnings to solve real world issues.
