Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).

Roshni: I appeared for 2 GDs (one was online and other was offline) and then the WAT. Each GD group had 7-8 members. In the case of online GD, everyone got to speak for 1 minute about their opinions in a sequential order and then had a discussion. In offline GD, all had to speak together.

In WAT, around half of the space was provided for the answer and 10 +5 minutes was given to each candidate to think and frame the answers. In the case of GD, candidates should be a part of the discussion and try to bring out unique points and facts on the topic. In the case of WAT, one must read articles and news from different websites to know about different fields and try to articulate your thoughts before writing it.

Collegedunia Team: What was the WAT/GD Topic?

Roshni: The topic given in the GD round was- Should Hindi or English be the official language of India (For/Against), and Technology in rural areas. And the topic for the WAT round- Shane Warne had recently died.

Collegedunia Team: What was your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Roshni: In the first GD, I spoke for the motion of Hindi and said that Hindi is a language that unites all the North, East, Central and West India. Other countries like Japan, China don't have an English-speaking population and they still have the highest GDP and are still flourishing. I also mentioned that the majority of the population of India is still in Rural areas and most of them don't know English but that doesn't mean their intelligence is lesser than others.

For the second GD round, I spoke about various schemes that are provided by the Government of India, free laptops. I also spoke about how technology has spread all across rural areas as everyone has smartphones nowadays and elaborated it.

Finally, for the WAT round, I wrote whatever I knew about Shane Warne, which included his career, his lifestyle, etc.

Collegedunia Team: Mention any three reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Roshni: The three main reasons were:

I joined this college because the faculty to student ratio is great, it has almost built its permanent campus, and the return on investment ratio is almost 1:1 which is great according to baby IIM's.

The next best college I converted to was IRMA, but I opted for this college not only because of the brand of IIM, but also because IRMA narrowed down my path to a specialisation of rural management.

I wanted to broaden my future scope and choose whatever specialisation attracts me. I also converted to IIM Nagpur, but I opted for this college because of a diverse batch with a great location.
