Prakahar: EWS (Economically Weaker Section).

Describe the general setting of WAT/ GD (if any)?

Prakahar: Due to Covid 19 WAT being scrapped and only GD was held online in ZOOM. In GD we had 2-panel members, one was from a corporate sector and another member was a faculty member in IIM Vizag. GD was challenging as we were given a case study to analyze and put forth our viewpoints and give solutions. We were given 1 minute each to speak or introduce the topic and the rest of the discussion was coming up together with the solution. It was not aggressive at all, everyone was calm and respected each other’s points and opinions. The panel members were also chill and relaxed and also mentored us in the end on how to do well in discussing topics as a group.

Describe the general setting of your interview?

Prakahar: There were 3 panelists, all were faculties of IIM Vizag. It was an online interview. The interview lasted about 18 minutes. They asked mostly about my work experience, my hobbies, and my academic background.

Tip: Be calm and composed. Answer to the point of their questions, do not be too detailed as they will stop you and will ask you to be crisp with your answers.

Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Prakahar: IIM Visakhapatnam is mentored by IIM B so it is doing well compared to newer IIMs, the location of the campus is good & being an IIM the placement scenario is great.

What was the reason for you not converting to other colleges? (if any)

Prakahar: I was shortlisted for IIM Lucknow, however, could not convert because GD did not go well there.
