What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Working with the young minds keeps me connected with the education sector”

Having worked for more than 25 years in various capacities; I always thought of serving the nation with my dedicated and out of the box teaching. I was very fascinated by giving quality education and looking for the holistic development of students. Constant updating of knowledge in my research domain was the critical factor in remaining in the educational services. Improving the teaching-learning process with the use of ICT was one of the critical changes in the institute.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“I set an example by leading from the front ”

Leading from the front by setting an example for my colleagues and students is my philosophy of leadership. Be it the punctuality in all aspects; I try to do it myself before asking someone else to do it. Well said by Vince Lombardi; “Leaders aren’t born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. My early schooling in Sainik School Satara taught me leadership and later nurtured them at NDA. As said, it is a “Cradle of Leadership”; I give up most opportunities for my colleagues and staff to lead from the front.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

“We ensure to make personal connections with all the stakeholders”

Going beyond the updated website, monthly newsletter, media (print and visual), and social media to disseminate the information to all our stakeholders. We have our presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social websites too. It keeps us connected with all the parents and alumni. A monthly newsletter to the students and parents in PDF formats to inform about the college's happenings .

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. What are your views upon it?

“Problem based learning is what we focus on”

Education in foreign countries is much inclined towards research and problem based learning instead of theoretical knowledge. We have already initiated Problem Based Learning during the first year and Project-Based Seminars and mini projects in third year consultation with industry partners. It is gaining a lot of interest in doing small projects and publishing their innovative work at national and international conferences.

How does the curriculum of Trinity Academy of Engineering ensure the best practice of industry?

“We impart various technology based learning to help students thrive”

Emerging technologies and software training is organized for the benefits of the students to make them industry-ready. At the beginning of the semester, we conduct one-week Value Added Programs to fulfill the industry's needs. Apart from VAP, we perform various seminars and workshops on content beyond syllabus topics by industry personnel to bridge the gap. The Employability Skills Development program offered by Zensar Technologies is conducted on campus for the last five years; they train our final year students for recent industry trends and soft skills developments.

“I always strive to identify my students' hidden talents and provide opportunities to realize their fullest potential and shape them into future leaders, entrepreneurs, and good human beings.”

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?

“My primary role is to regulate the strong academic and administration of all the activities”

I work to develop the institute in all areas for the all-round growth of the institute. We conduct regular meetings of the various quality circle committees to better liaison and coordinate in academics, administration, research, and finance to exchange ideas and cooperate in multiple activities.

I look for all my students' holistic development to excel not only in academics, but also in extra and co-curricular activities. As a Principal, I advise the Management and the Campus Director for all the institute's financial and administrative matters.

What do you see as your institute’s greatest strengths?

“The greatest strength of TAE is its faculty”

You can see a blend of experienced faculty in our college. Every student feels at home with our faculty at the college. Every teacher gives our students the best education. Our faculty always light up the energy in students. Hence maybe our students still shine in whichever stream they are today.

“The cost of education is one of the biggest challenges for higher education in our country. Keeping pace with ever-changing industry needs; sometimes makes it challenging to provide industry-ready engineering from our institutes.”

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Learn how to learn”

Be a student always in your life. Believe in lifelong learning. Anywhere, everywhere the moment you think you can learn something new, admire it and accept it. Have the curiosity to be a part of the innovation and do something for the Nation. It is you to whom your siblings, your next-generation look at you as an idol. In this complete competitive world, have some generosity enlightened within you. As this Covid pandemic situation has given us many opportunities, every new problem comes with lots of options for the youth in a similar way.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute?

“The environment in which we learn is incredibly important”

The work atmosphere for a teacher should always be healthy as they are responsible for building tomorrow's future. I see that every teacher is engaged with some of the other fruitful knowledge gaining activities. I urge them to do their research work and indulge in some innovative findings. Not only research but also after their regular academic lectures, I make them involved in Indoor, outdoor sports activities. All these make the complete environment lively and cherishable by them.
