The annual cultural fest of JU is Sanskriti and Srijan is our annual tech fest. They are conducted in the first quarter of the year. We have a big building as our central Library and many books and journals are available here. The classrooms are not so bad-no so good kind of. They have projectors and ACs. Sports like cricket, football, basketball, long tennis, table tennis etc are hugely Encouraged by the college and separate fields are there for each sport. Many clubs are there like Mountains, photography, Debating, drama, science, coding etc are here on campus

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for on-campus internships from the 5th semester and for placements from the 7th semester. Many companies from Google, Amazon, and apple to Deloitte, Razorpay, slice, grab more than 150 companies visit campus and make offers of more than 1.9k Last year's highest package was 1.8 cr per annum from google London for the SDE role. Around 80-90% of students get placed in JU and ETCE has a 100% placement record. Though college offers great placements, I'm willing to do an MBA after my graduation.

The annual festival conducted in this college is called ENSEMBLE. In this fest, there are many events. There is a variety of entertainment programs. There is a prize distribution program. There is a treasure hunt competition. Funfair is also arranged with traditional day and fashion shows and ramp walks. College has a library in which lots of books are available on different topics, different subjects, and in different languages. The campus of the college is quite small. Classrooms are fully digital. Each classroom has a projector and smart TV. Sports and extracurricular activities are held with enthusiasm. Tech events are also arranged in the college named HACKATHON, DEXTERITY. College gas different clubs like ACHILLES, SUPRA, BAHA, ZENITH.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was interested in electronics thats why I chose electronics and telecommunications engineering. The course curriculum is decided by the SPPU university itself. The faculty for the same course teaches well. Teaching methods are also good. Some teachers are the best ones. Term exams are also there as per the schedule of SPPU. The checking of the in-sem exams is done in the college itself but the checking of the end-sem exams is done in the university.

Placement Experience:

There are campus placements for the students and it got started last year starting. There are many companies that come but mostly are for cs, it and etc branches. Although other branch students can also participate in some companies. The training and placement officers are not good they don't answer your calls and if something happens after your placement then they don't take any action or do not even reply to you so don't believe in the top of the college. The company is basically Accenture, Wipro, cognizant, Infosys, and many more. The average package is three lakhs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i am much interested in circuits as well as the coding beacuse i have the coding subjects in my HSC so i choose entc branch because it have the topics on both of the above coding and circuits as well. The teachers are good in teaching and there are different teacher gurdian for all the students. The exams are quite hard but if you study well you can pass it easily.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had chosen this course because I was really much interested in the telecommunication sector. In our department there were multiple teachers were provided for a particular subject there is about 10 to 15 teachers were provided for 200 students. Our teachers are highly qualified most of the teachers to have 10+ years of experience, and many of the teachers have completed their M-tech or many of them have Ph.D. In one semester there were many time exams conducted such as unit tests/mock in sem the Insem exam the practical exam, the prelim exam the end sem exam, the difficulty level of the exam is high and our college is strict about cheating in examinations.

Students are eligible for placement from the 6th semester, first, our college takes a training session to train students for placement perspective. There are multiple MNC companies visited in our college such as Wipro, TCS, Capgemini, Accenture, Infosys, etc the student gets single offers from the college. There are multiple companies visited in college which provide Average package of 3 LPA to a maximum package of 10 LPA. There about 70 to 75% of students got placement from college. My plan is to join a company that I got from my college placement.

Ques. How is ABES EC as an engineering college and what are its downfalls?

● Top Answer By Gaurav Sharma on 10 Mar 22

Ans. Overall ABES EC is an average engineering college at best. Here are some of the pros and cons of joining the institutes.  Pros:  It has great infrastructural facilities. There is centralized AC for all blocks in the whole college. The lush green campus will soothe your eyes. The hostel accommodation is well furnished and maintained regularly.  There are many food courts that sell good quality food at reasonable prices. The campus has a big stadium that conducts different cricket matches. Some of the faculty members are cooperative and student-friendly.  The ABES EC placement scenario is decent. The average CTC offered to students is around INR 6 LPA. There are many clubs like Samvaad Theatre Group, Technovation, etc. in which you can take part.  Cons:  ABES EC has a strict 75% attendance rule. Failing to maintain this can lead to detention.  The institute calls parents if you don’t attend your class.  The hostel curfew timing for girls is strict. You need to be inside the hostel premises at 6 pm during winter and 6:30 pm during summer.  Overall, your time at ABES EC will be a bitter-sweet one. Read more

Ques. Which is better at CUSAT, IT or EC?

● Top Answer By Sikha Rajput on 20 Jul 21

Ans. Both the options are good. There is no such difference in the quality of education, either in these two branches, or any other branch in CUSAT. They make you work hard, focus on every detail, and stress a lot on the practical classes and labs. As for the faculty, 85% are permanent. As for the quality of faculty, everyone will have a different view. According to my friends at CUSAT, the only difference you will find between the branches is that the EC people toil 3 times harder than the other branches. According to the overall placement statistics the average and highest CTC offered to the students is 4 LPA and 15 LPA. You should choose the branch that is better for you. Think about the branch where your interest lies, will you be able to manage the workload efficiently, does the subject interest you, or which branch has the better placements matter. However, I would like to advise you not to be bothered by placements any more.Read more

● Top Answer By Subham Chowdhury on 30 Aug 22

Ans. IIIT Allahabad offers a great ECE program. The course curriculum is well-structured and covers many subjects. You will learn the core subjects of ECE in the first year itself. The first-year course work doesn’t include subjects like Mechanical, Chemistry, Engineering Drawing, etc. This is one of the major advantages of choosing IIIT Allahabad.  IIIT Allahabad placements are good for ECE. Here are the recent placement highlights. Parameters Statistics Average CTC  INR 12.5 LPA Highest CTC  INR 39 LPA Placement rate  85% Goldman Sachs, Citi Bank, Morgan Stanley, etc. are among the major recruiters that take part in campus recruitment. Read more

Ques. How is the Electronics and Computer Engineering Branch of Thapar University in terms of faculty and placement and is it good to join thapar now?

● Top Answer By Tania Sharma on 12 Aug 21

Ans. ECE at Thapar University is more Hardware orientated. You may find yourself dealing with semiconductors for about 3 to 3.5 years. In addition to this, will be the onslaught of programming languages and a little portion of database and networking.  In case you opt for the Computer Science program, you'll notice that it is purely software-oriented and has a lot more on programming languages, architectures, databases,, and networking. ECE is the 2nd best option after CSE as its cut-off is just below it. This year, cut off score for ECE is as listed below: Particulars General Category (Outside Punjab) General Category (From Punjab) 10th Marks (PCM) 95.66% 85% JEE Main 2021 65.05 percentile 87.47 percentile As for placements, some well-known companies which visit for recruitment, are Texas Instruments, Whirlpool India, TCS, HP, Larsen and Toubro, ST Electronics, Philips, Mu Electronics India, and others. The placement rate is an amazing 99% for most of the departments. The highest package offered this year is 43 LPA and a total of 970 students got placed.Read more

Ques. How are the ECE placements at Thapar University?

● Top Answer By Ashmita Khanal on 09 Aug 21

Ans. One of my friends is currently pursuing his Electronics and Computer Engineering at Thapar Institute of engineering technology, Patiala. Here are some snippets of his experience on campus so far.  The institute has a 300-acre campus of lush green. So, surviving here won't be an issue. The institute organizes great workshops such as Hydraulics, Web Development, and Circuit Building, etc. He said after one and a half months, he realized that the institute offers lots of opportunities, and grabbing them is what you have to do. The hostels are well-maintained and the food is good enough. Hostels have good Wi-Fi speeds ranging from 1.2 - 3 Mbps sometimes. Professors are quite cooperative and they employ new techniques for teaching. There is a well-designed playing area. There is a badminton court, tennis court, synthetic track, etc.  Juju’s Cafe, Pizza Nation, are some of the popular hangout places on campus. The rules and regulations are strict when it comes to discipline. Students are not allowed to leave campus after 7 pm. Hope this gives you an idea of what to expect at Thapar University.Read more

Ques. Is NIT Puducherry for ECE better than IIITDM Kancheepuram for mechanical?

● Top Answer By Adrija Ghose on 21 Sept 22

Ans. IIITDM Kancheepuram Mechanical is better in comparison. The department has four branches under the norms of Design and Manufacturing. The academics are practical-oriented. IIITDM follows an updated curriculum that is different from the traditional course structure of most engineering colleges. The Mechanical faculties are great. Most of them have PhDs qualifications from reputed IITs and NITs.  IIITDM Kancheepuram placements are good for Mechanical. Students of the branch get recruited as Project leads, Supervisors,  Design Operators, etc. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 7 LPA.Read more

Ques. Which is better, NIT Jamshedpur CSE or NIT Calicut ECE?

● Top Answer By Saurabh Seth on 21 Aug 21

Ans. NIT Jamshedpur for CSE and NIT Calicut for ECE both have good placements. It depends on you which branch you are interested in. One of my friends is studying at NIT Jamshedpur so I will give you insight into the institute’s branch.  The placement of NIT Jamshedpur is good with 100% placement. Almost 50% of students get multiple placement offers.  The average CTC offered to CSE students is around INR 9 LPA to INR 10 LPA.  The placement of NIT Calicut departments is also good. In the following table, you will get basic information about NIT Jamshedpur, CSE and NIT Calicut, ECE programs.  Category NIT Jamshedpur CSE NIT Calicut ECE Fees INR 1.03 Lakh (1st Year) INR 1.37 Lakh Duration 4 years 4 years Recruiters Jaro Education, Byju’s, MatrixCare, HexaView, etc. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Google, Amazon, etc. Average CTC INR 15 LPA INR. 11 LPA Highest CTC INR 37.5 LPA INR. 38 LPA Therefore, CSE from NIT Jamshedpur and ECE from NIT Calicut both are good with good placement statistics. Ques. Which should I opt for, BITS Goa CSE or NIT Calicut ECE? I am having a financial crunch.

● Top Answer By Pooja Narayan on 26 Aug 21

Ans. If finances are an issue, then BITS Goa isn’t the right place to go unless you come under the EWS category (total family income less than 11 LPA). BITS Goa is one of the most expensive engineering colleges in India. A B.E degree can end up costing about 19 to 20 lakhs for 4 years and an M.Sc degree about 19 lakhs. If you are from general category, BITS Goa will dent your wallet for the next few years. Besides being one of the best engineering NITs in the country, the fees for NIT Calicut are much, much lighter around 5.5 lakhs for 4 years. Getting a Circuit branch is no easy task as the cutoffs are pretty high. If you’re getting ECE here, and money is an issue, then this is the place to go. Although, if you’re under the EWS section, BITS Goa will offer scholarships based on your performance in the first year. If you’re able to obtain a CGPA of 8.5+, then a scholarship of 80% is awarded. For a CGPA of 7.5, a scholarship of 40% is awarded, and so on. Read more

Ques. Which is better NIT Trichy ECE or NIT Calicut CSE?

● Top Answer By Akarsh Sharma on 24 Mar 21

Ans. NIT Trichy is better than NIT Calicut. But the CSE department of NIT Calicut is better than all NITs. The placement of CSE is better. You can choose any course according to your interest.  The following table will give you the basic information of NIT Trichy ECE or NIT Calicut CSE.  Category NIT Trichy NIT Calicut  Fees INR 1.49 Lakhs (1st Year) INR 5.42 Lakhs  Recruiters  HCL, Mahindra, Genpact, Cognizant, Sensiple, Sonata, Wipro, Ramco, Tata Consultancy Services, Zoho, Rivigo, Hexaware  Google, Tata Consultancy Services, Amazon, Infosys, IBM, Oracle, Intel Corporation, Qualcomm, L&T, Microsoft, Cisco, Cognizant, Wipro, Accenture Highest Package  INR 40 LPA INR 49.75 LPA Average Package  INR 4.5 LPA INR 11.58 LPA If you are a person who can spend hours before the computer and likes the challenging corporate life then CSE will be a better option for you after the 12th. If you are interested in studying various subjects and then choosing your specialisation, you work hard and are disciplined, then you choose ECE. You can also work on research in DRDO or ISRO.  One of my friends studies in the NIT Calicut CSE department, and students get a decent placement there. The highest package offered to students at NIT Calicut is INR 49.75 LPA while the average package is INR 11.58 LPA. CSE students easily get internship opportunities in good companies which gives them pre-placement offers.  If you are curious about the hostel life of a girl’s NIT Calicut then here are few details.  NIT Calicut hostel rules are strict specifications for first year students. In the first year, 4-5 students will live in one room, second and third-year students get two roommates and final year students get single occupancy.  There are four messes in NIT Calicut, and one of them is pure-veg. Its mess food is better than other institutes such as IITs and NITs. It also has a night mess opened from 9 to 12. Therefore, the NIT Calicut CSE department is good. After you get promoted in the second year, you will start enjoying your campus stay. The campus is also beautiful. The Calicut climate is also good, most of the month it is hot and rains in one semester. So, you can choose CSE if you're passionate about it.Read more
